You broke it - you fix it.

I'm a registered OWNER of this software and it has worked beautifully for many years. Now when I open MY software it gives me a error message and sends me to YOUR website - as if you expect me to BUY an upgrade. I'm not ever going to buy anything from anybody who steels my software. I'm not asking for your support on a legacy product. I'm demanding that you give me the use of the software that I purchased!. I received a link to download your "so called" upgrade but when I try to install it, the message says "I have a NEWER version currently on my system and I must uninstall the newer version first". ARE YOU NUTS!!!! You want me to uninstall the program that I own so I can install (God only knows what) the software that your sending me. I'm running my Movie Studio Platinum Suite on a very stable Windows 7 machine, so don't send me a "fix" that only runs on Windows 10. Again, YOU BROKE IT - YOU FIX IT! All I want from you is to once again allow me to use the software that I OWN. If you do not resolve this issue, I'll be going to the press and be all over social media exposing the thieving crooks that you are.

Get back to me with a fix - you have me email address.

First, please understand these are user to user forums, so not a contact for any Magix staff. So the software you have is not ours and we are not responsible for any problems you may have, nor do we have your email address.

Second, this is NOT the forum for any Magix Vegas product, either Vegas Pro or any version of Movie Studio prior to version 18. Please read this pinned post and follow the advice given there but, assuming you have one of the products appropriate to the Vegas forum, it is also a user to user facility so there is no point at all in merely reposting there what you have posted here. And you should certainly NOT post your email address.

Third, I think it extremely unlikely that anyone employed by Magix GMBH has done anything to your software to "break" it! However, Windows 7 is no longer supported even by Microsoft; given that, it is entirely possible that an update to whichever software you have will no longer run because it is not designed or intended to be run under that OS.

Finally, there is no point at all in posting threats to go to the press and be all over social media and there are no thieving crooks determined to make your like miserable! You have chosen to continue to use a now-superseded OS; it is wholly unreasonable to expect that any software manufacturer should continue to support it.

I said am going public until Magix fixes this. That's why I'm in a user forum.

When I try to start the program, it takes me to the Magix GMBH website. They own this! They did this! All I want is the my software back which I purchased and they took away. I'm not asking for "support" from anyone.

As I stated previously, "I'm not asking for your support on a legacy product. I'm demanding that you give me back the use of the software that I purchased!"

I also previously stated that they sent me a link for an "upgrade" but when I try to install it an error message states that the software on my system is NEWER that the one I'm trying to install and that I should uninstall my NEWER VERSION. What?

They can fix this. They just need to remove the lock which they placed on my software - which they don't own. Your right about that.

Since you have version 12, which is now old and as I indicated earlier, you need to repost to the dedicated Vegas products forum here.
