There are several models of the i7-13000 series of processors, what is the full name including the letters at the end?
We also need additional information on the video format, resolution and bitrates you are importing on the timeline?
Download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the clips causing the issue and post the results, see this tutorial on how to set up MediaInfo and analyse a video clip for all the data required.
Are the graphics card/integrated GPU, if there is one, drivers up to date? The GTX 1650 driver latest version is 551.76 (31.0.15.5176) for the GRD drivers which Magix recommend.
A screenshot of the Program settings, Device options tab would also help.
If you do not want help with the issue, and definitely want a refund contact Magix by email to infoservice@magix.net
Hi, my CPU is Intel i7 12tg Gen i7-12700KF 3.6Ghz, i'm uploading only some whatsapp videos, mp4 mostly, I already updated all the drivers, my sutiation now is my video is ready, but I can't export because again the software is freezing.... just as a comment, it freeze with just move the mouse sometimes, and sometimes works for 10 minutes without problem. Please I need a solution.
Please also give us ALL the information John asked for, especially:

Hi and welcome to the user to user forums. Hence no Magix staff present on the forums to grant any requests but we (users) do try to help others.
If the freezing is happening at random then check your C: drive has enough free space for the program to make and use temporary swap files while it is running. That could be one cause. I would suggest at least 20GBs of free space but a lot could depend on the length and resolution of your project and this is only one possible cause and may need more than 20GBs worth of free space. Adding some third party effects that need more processing power than the core program can be another. You would need to check with the appropriate web site to check each plugins needs.
Hi, finally i ended the job with mi Studio 2016... 2024 is not working, I imported videos from whatsapp and from my phone, my computer is ok, this is not what I expect from a new version. I prefer to cancel this subscription and continue with 2016 license.
Unfortunately, this has no integrated GPU which closes one avenue of quick checks.
. . . . I imported videos from whatsapp and from my phone . . . .
What resolution, format and bitrate are these, a MediaInfo analysis will give you this information.
Are the video files stored locally on an internal hard/SSD drive, on Microsoft OneDrive, or external USB storage?
If you want to do some testing, analyse a WhatsApp and iPhone video clip with MediaInfo, in the analysis of both, in the video section, if you see this line
Frame rate mode: Variable
Try converting a few clips to Constant frame rate, using Handbrake or Avidemux and import them to see if the freezing is still there.
Hi, how can explain that in Movie Studio 2016 works well and 2024 doesnt? my graphic card is a GTX 1650 and is good enough for editing a couple of videos, I always work locally and my internal drives are NVME 1TB.
The video recorded with my phone has 3840x2160, 60fps and 72355kbps speed.
I'm really frustrated, it suppouse to have an upgrade buying the last version :(
The sympthom is any time I move the video, open a window (inside movie studio), or even SAVE the project the application get frost, after kill the process and open it up again, maybe let me save it but after move something, frost again, and maybe after a new restart works well for a while... is crazy.
. . . . Movie Studio 2016 works well and 2024 doesnt . . . . . 3840x2160, 60fps and 72355kbps speed . . .
Do you mean Movie Edit Pro 2016, there is no such program as Movie Studio 2016?
There was a Vegas Movie Studio (VMS) 16 which was discontinued.
The 3 different programs are using 3 different decoding/encoding technologies.
VMS 16 will be using the CUDA decoding/encoding technology in the GTX 1650.and is therefore 'hardware accelerated'.
MEP 2016 does not support CUDA or NVENC decoding/encoding for Hardware Acceleration so cannot use the GTX 1650, relying totally on the CPU and should be giving the same issues as 2024 .
MMS 2024 can use NVENC decoding/encoding for hardware acceleration, however for 4K UHD video this is not supported on the GTX 1650, only the GTX 1650 Super, in which case the program is relying totally on the CPU.
Is this encoded h.264/AVC or h.265/HEVC and is it also HDR, ie 10 bit, video?
To add to the comments made by @johnebaker from my own personal experiences.
I had been using the nvidia 1650Super but found although my programs were not freezing that playback could become jumpy / stuttery when editing 4K and export was slow even with the help of an inboard Intel HD 630.
It seems to be caused by the lack of vram on the graphics cards. Although the Magix website cites 4GBs as sufficient for 4K editing they quote using the nvidia 1060 which if you look that card up comes in two variants. A 3GB card and a 6GB card so their testing must have been with the 6GB card to use that as a recommendation. Also that card has a 192 bit bus as opposed to the 1650 and 1650Super's 128 bit bus and that version of the 1060 is still stronger than the base 1650 card for video work.
Nearly all new programs have the same base requirements for their programs. You have to really read the specs and understand the consequences which can be difficult for the casual user even when put more plainly such as on the Adobe site that has changed it's basic specification needs in the past year.
Even on short projects the 3060 12GB card I now use often goes over using 4GBs but often stays under 6GBs when editing 4K if I'm not adding much in the way of effects.
As you can see my older Intel i9900K is coping all be it working quite hard but the main difference is the work being done by the nvidia 3060. This it taken from a project I'm currently rendering from 4K footage.
Every 2 years at most, the Vegas Movie Studio was updated. Previously used PowerDirector. The Vegas interface started to make all the difference! Resources not so much because I was looking for agility! After I got used to Vegas Movie Studio 15, I upgraded to 17. Soon after, I was unpleasantly surprised that Magix had discontinued something good. I understood this better and decided that within my profile, something equivalent would be MMS in the case of 2023 (platinum). At first I had problems like yours and my alternative would be to go back to Vegas Pro (Edit). But something caught my attention! (quality of the rendered video better!) This something suggested patience and I started to put aside my requirement and if it works for some people why not for me? I invested a little time in tutorials, also in learning about temporary Windows folders that must "be cleaned" (before loading the system or other programs, close them all first) especially when we have freezing, etc... (%temp%). And so I walked and started to like it because, as many here say, it is very intuitive. It has "annoying" bugs but can be overcome using an alternative path. Pass this irritation to Magix support! But don't give up on MMS! Vegas Pro offers a lot of features but perhaps this version 21 of them is the one with lots and lots of bugs because it probably needs to be rewritten a lot (And this takes years!). If Magix MMS and especially VPX know how to invest in quality control, they will be very successful and, above all, increase their clientele! Everything a simple editor like MMS offers is quite sufficient. You just have to give it a chance with patience and learn the way and resources to get what you need, but don't give up! Think about it: if you help them, life ends up helping you! These illustrious people who helped you here know a little, enough for you to get a positive response! There are plenty of tutorials, although hidden. The French community also has several positive experiences. Good job!
@Roberto-Goncalves Magix didn't discontinue VMS, it was a VEGAS decision. They wanted to concentrate more on Vegas Pro instead of Vegas Pro and VMS.
If you are having issues with Vegas, post in that forum. Also remember the hardware you are using is 8th gen Intel and 16GB of RAM. Certainly enough to work with Vegas, but more current hardware, along with more RAM would be better. New software with new features demand more of your hardware. And their minimum specs required, to me are bogus. The software will run, but your editing experience might not be that great. I edit daily with VP21 Post and rarely a crash.
Hi, I bought Movie Studio 2024 license, but is not working, is constantly freezing and I have a job delay right know.
My computer is an i7 13K with 32GB RAM and NVIDIA GTX1650 graphic card, Is really frustrating, I need my money back
I have the same experience with Move Studio 2024. This program is a total disaster. It never runs and freeze in seconds after the loading of a movie clip. I request money back or an another WORKING application. I'm very old Magix client, but I've never seen such erroneous program. And please don't ask me stupid questions like which CPU, Video memory, which movie etc. This project is perfect working with older Magix packages - why do you push me to buy new software each year??
. . . . And please don't ask me stupid questions like which CPU, Video memory, which movie etc. . . . .
Not doing so, and getting the information requested, means we cannot help you resolve the issue you are having.
The issue is in your computer the system, of which we know nothing, and we cannot see what is happening.
If you want help, post the information requested, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full, and also what monitor/screen resolution(s) you are working with if this is a laptop.
I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.
Are you getting any error messages, if so then please quote them in full or provide screen shots.
Check the Windows Reliability monitor to see if there are any crashes for Movie Studio recorded, if so post a screen shot of the error message - see this short tutorial on how to use the Reliability monitor.
Are the graphics card/integrated GPU drivers up to date?
A screen shot of the Program settings, Device options tab would help.
As the issues occur when adding video to the timeline, what video format, codec and resolution are you using - to help with this download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the clips causing the issue and post the results, see this tutorial on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip for all the data required. https://www.magix.info/us/tutorials/setting-up-and-using-mediainfo--1279822
