Movie Studio 2022 Suite BUY AGAIN???

I bought and installed Movie Studio 2022 Suite on my computer already when it was offered back in October 2021.

Why is Magix now sending me upgrade emails wanting me to buy THIS SAME EXACT PRODUCT for a SECOND TIME after when I initially upgraded to it, Magix had promised me it was supposedly a "Lifetime Purchase with FREE UPDATES for the first year??? But now less than 6 months after purchase, Magix wants me to BUY this SAME product for a SECOND TIME???

Hi Mark.

This website is first off, the user to user forums. There are no Magix staff here.

These popups are designed to inform of either new releases or special additional plugins on offer with an upgrade or new purchase. They do not invalidate your current contract with Magix so you are safe to ignore the popup and dismiss it with the 'Do not show this again' box which should stop it from popping up.

In this instance it is because they are offering a plugin with a value of over £1,000 with a lifetime licence.

You may get the same popup again in the future if the same promotion is either extended or brought back at a future date.

The update notifier is a separate program within MEP and VPX but as far as I know can't be accessed by the user from within the program. Disabling it from task manager or trying to remove it may cause problems. I'm not sure.

While it can be annoying it is also a way of keeping abreast of new versions or special offers.

Welcome to the Magix universe. Continual bombardment by emails and popups that will not go away even if you tick the box. 🙂

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

Hi Al.

I don't suffer the same popups if I do tick the 'do not show this again' option box while those promotions still run. It won't stop new or extended promotions. Emails can be routed directly to junk mail if so desired.

WhileI see where it can become very annoying I get less of this from Magix than from my service provider, Amazon, Mobile phone provider or car dealer.

Ray, Alwyn - Mark is referring to emails, not the popup - 'Magix now sending me upgrade emails'

Mark - login in to your account at magix.com - account icon is top right of the homepage - with the email address/password used to register the software, select Info Service, there you can opt of of marketing email notification.

If you are also bugged by the popups mentioned by Ray and Alwyn, and are not using the Magix Cloud Import feature, uninstall Update Notifier, also known as Magix Cloud Import, Magix Connect, Connect and Network Sync which you have will depend on when it was originally installed.

If you have more than one Magix program you may have several installs of the Update Notifier and alias names.
