Movie Studio 18

I have just purchased Magix Movie Studio 18 and was using 17.

I am inserting video clips from my Sony FDR AX33B camcorder.

The video looks good, but the audio is poor quality and not balanced in pan, the raw clip sounds great by itself in other players.

My clips are 1080P at 60 fps . I also find that still pictures inadvertently rotate in the time line as well.

Is there a setting where I can correct these issues or can anyone offer some advise.

Hi and welcome to the user to user forums.

First can I say in case you are not aware. Movie Studio 17 is a product developed by the Vegas creative team and was dropped by it's developers.

Magix now being its parent company has stepped in with a slightly altered version of their Movie Edit Pro video editor and as such is a completely different program although they have branded it Movie Studio 18. Eventually both Movie Edit Pro and Movie Studio will be sold as one product in future releases, or so we are told.

That being said although the old Movie Studio 17 and the new Movie Studio 18 share the same branding, underneath the programming is different and may require some adjustment to get use to, or use.

If audio quality is poor, try increasing the audio buffers in the program settings but only by two to see if things improve. If the audio is set to use Direct X try changing the driver to wave driver. This new version may require more processing power than Movie Studio 17. All new program releases tend to make anyone's hardware work harder as new releases tend to be written for newer components as the demand to edit higher quality video increases.

If my changes do not work we may have to ask you for the specifications of your machine and detailed information about the video clips in use. Please read this thread for instructions.
