Movie Edit Pro2013-White box present using Title-Fonts with BG after exported?

themodeller wrote on 12/26/2012, 9:43 AM

Hi,

I am using Movie Edit Pro.

UsingTitles, Fonts with BG.

When I export film as media player, when I play it, the titles have a large white box present on the completed film, which I dont want. It's not presnt as a whit box on as I play back when editing; there is just a small semi transparent box with teh text on it, which is what I want.

Can anyone tell me how to ensure the white box isnt present when exported?

Thankyou

Guy

Guy,

I don't see your problem here, or in an export:

If I change the Chroma key setting for the 'trans area' object from white to black (under 'Effects' >> 'Video effects' >> 'Chroma key') I do get a big semi transparent white box covering most of the croc -- but it is visible in the preview window as well as on export. Have you made any changes to the title elements? My only suggestion would be to delete the tile and insert a fresh copy.

Regards,

Carl

Hi there,

I started a new projectr, dropped in a few seconds of film, dropped in the Font with BG, it plays fine in the package adn lokos liek yours, but saves in format as per the image attached.

If I use the Text Appears, then this exports OK, which I would be happy with if I could figure out how to make the bakground box, that the text sits in bigger? But I dont know how to do this!

Guy,

I've had a further look at how MEP does this using ''Text Appears" and have made progress but sorry can't do much more right now. So far...

'Text appears' is a package deal with some setting designed I'd say to prevent the casual user from messing things up -- which is what you want to do!

Un-group the rectangle from the title text, select it and go to 'Effects' >> 'Movement effects' >> 'Size and position'. The problem with re-sizing seems to be caused by the 'anti cropping' which you can delete, but that's where I stopped.

Alternately 'roll you own' -- make a plain rectangle jpeg and use it instead. You can then set the partial transparency slider in 'Effects' >> 'Video effects' >> 'Chroma key', and keyframe animate its size change using movement effects.

Carl

Hi Guy,

I assume you mean 'HG' not 'BG'? And I assume you're exporting with the 'Windows Media Export' type?

I get no white box with Fonts with HG, so perhaps it's an issue with your settings? Here are mine:

Or for better quality, with settings actually readable!

Re the alternative of Text Appears, if I want a larger transparent area (but why would I?) then I simply use Size/Position on each of the text and transparency objects.
