Movie Edit Pro slow to handle AVCHD .mts files?

Is Video Pro X faster and handling AVCHD .mts files within the editor than Movie Edit Pro MX?

I have about 90 minutes worth of 720p in MEP MX and navigating aroudn the time-line is very sluggish even with the video display rendering set to quarter resolution and object thumbnails set to its minimum setting. I'm using a 3.5ghz Quad Core Q9550 processor with 8gb of RAM and an Nvidia 9800 GTX+ video card.

Thank you, jeremy

Hi,

Handling true HD movie MT2S need a lot of power, you need a clean computer that means you close unnecessary running program. 8 gig is a minimum to run HD better 16 gig, But the most important use minimum video track, split movie in scene or split manually to work only on one portion. Use minimum effect. The last point check your hard disk for a 7200 rpm with memory on. Don't use outside USB hard to store your work.

Use Windows 7, 64 bits.

Hi Jeremy,
I got a Panasonic Camcorder (AVCHD [1920x1080 progressive mode 50i/s]) with a Card and use a USB Card Reader to import the files on my PC.
To read .MTS files in the Time Line in the native mode (without jerky pictures), you must have a powerful computer (I7 recommanded) as a Gamer!

I knew your problem with my old computer, even with Windows 7 Quadri-Core and I5, but now it's OK!

See you soon
Charles
