Movie Edit Pro MX Plus will only export 3:50 of a 33 minute movie

Movie Edit Pro Mx Plus,

I am working on a short film for a film festival. I used 34 tracks for the editing and the film's running time is about 33 minutes. Everytime I export the film as an mpeg it only exports 3:50 of the 33 minutes. Is there any particular reason for this? Can I click or fix any settings?

Hi,

Do you perhaps have 'Export selected range only' enabled?

No it isn't enabled. Is there anything else I can look at?

Please confirm the video is playing fully on the timeline.

And show us the full details of your export settings.

Try opening a new movie and copy/paste your 33 min project to it. Does that export fully or still only the first 3:50?

What happens if you select a short range (say 1 min) beyond the initial 3:50 and export that?

Assuming that fails too, does an export to another video type, such as MP4, AVI or WMV also give the same problem?

If you can isolate a short section that fails to export, upload it so that we can try it.

Are you working with a full registered version ie not just a Trial version? Is it on the most recent patch and have the program settings been reset to defaults after patching?

Are the export settings exactly the same as the original material? Have you tried it without Smart Render checked.

Tip: - For MPEG2 exports - if you click on the "From File" button (at the bottom of the advanced encoder settings window) and navigate to one of your source files, it will load all the characteristics of that file for the encode. This will mean that smart render can be used on more of the clips and less re encoding is required.

Do you see any error messages that the encoding has failed?

Does the file size seem to correlate to the duration of 3:50secs?

Peter

Presumably the OP lost interest, or solved the problem and didn't bother to tell us.
