Movie Edit Pro 2016 copyright issue on Facebook and Youtube

Movie Edit Pro 2016 copyright issue on Facebook and Youtube, I have now done several videos but today I get a message from Facebook and Youtube that my video contains copyrighted music. I was thinking that all the music supplied with the software had permissions to use it, is this not the case?

Hi,

Normally YT remove the video if a claim for infringe music, song. Which music you use from Magix video? I hope that  somebody from the Magix staff answer and clarify the use of music from software.

Regards,

YR

Trash - Blonde Lounge is the song and it was from the supplied software Pro Edit 2016 but I think it was under a different name in the software. I am dissapointed as the software is really good but why supply the songs if they are copyrighted, I used fast cut previously and didn't have any issues with that.

Just found out this morning that there are four videos with copyright issues and one was done with Magix Fastcut, the problem is I cannot monetise my videos. to be honest I could have just use MP3's from my collection but thought using the supplied music would be a safe bet.

Hi

This is an issue with Facebook and Youtube - they do not accept recognise the fact that video or music made with software which incorporates soundpools eg Music Maker MEP etc will sound the same or have sequences that same.

They also seem to be blind to the fact that no one who uses Magix soundpools, whether they have the persoanl use licence or even the Pro licences, can claim copyright - that always belongs to Magix.

Under the terms and conditions of the licences users only have a licence to use the soundpools, what they can do with the soundpools, eg monetise, depends on the licence held for the particular soundpool(s) used.

See here for more information on licencing - see the PDF links for more details in particular section 2 of the licence type and Magix's terms and conditions for Consumer and Professional use.

Hi,

The fact to use mp3 files from a computer is not a warranty that is legal but the music incorporate in video software or tracks bought from accredited suppliers is more safe with YT or FB. To monetized video, you must use only legal material like music, song, pictures, photos, videos and text: if somebody claims to YT that you infringe something, YT has no choice to remove temporary or permanently the video until you prove thay you respect the rights.

@ YR

. . . . if somebody claims to YT that you infringe something, YT has no choice to remove temporary or permanently the video until you prove thay you respect the rights . . . .

There lies the problem - there have been several copyright claims on YT in the last 2 years where members have been accused of infringing the copyrights of other people who have used soundpools from MMM or MEP to create music or soundtracks for video.

The point is those who claim copyright actually do not have the right to make this claim because they themselves do not own the copyright of the soundpools - that belongs to Magix / Catooh.

Users of soundpools only have a licence to use them - they do not and never will own the soundpools.

To claim copyright on a piece of work created in software, such as MMM or MEP for example, the work must be an original creation.
