Movie Edit Pro 2015 Wont install on Windows 8.1 64 bit

Hello,

I am trying to install Movie Edit Pro 2015 on a laptopn running Windows 8.1 64 bit

The installation stops about two thirds of the way into Step 5 of 5, with the message 'Creating Installation Script'.

The DVD drive continues to spin, but the installer does not progress any further.  It is also not possible to Cancel the installation.

Is this a known problem and is there a solution?

Hi

There is, AFAIK, no problem installing from disc onto Windows 8.

There is a small chance that either the disc is bad or your DVD drive is not reading the disc properly.

Using Windows Explorer - create a new folder in your Documents and copy the entire contents of the disc to the folder  - do not place this folder on your desktop - it may cause issues.

Then browse to the folder you created and look for the installation program -  run it to install the program.

It would appear that a few people are reporting this problem.  And the solution seems to be to wait for the installation process to complete.

So I waited and waited and waited. Then after 1 hour and 20 minutes, the software finally installed.

I have to say that this is quite ridiculous.

Come on, Magix software guys!! , this problem should be easily reproducable in your test labs and you should fix it.
