JBB,

No problem here:

Did you get to this sort of screen showing the third red button which actually starts the recording? The first one is under the preview monitor to choose any type of recording. The second is on the 'Screen capture' dialog where you can pick recording quality and save file location etc. It is confusingly labeled 'Recording:', which mistakenly suggests that clicking 'OK' will finish the process.

Regards,

Carl

HI

You do not say which version of MEP 2013 you have - it comes in three versions: Basic, Plus and Premium.

I suspect you have the Basic version which does not include screen capture.

To johnebaker: I have Movie Edit Pro 2013 version 12.0.3.4 (UDC2)

I was unaware of the Basic, Plus and Premium versions or options.

To cpc000cpc: When I hit the red button at the bottom of the preview screen a dialogue screen opens called the Recording Source Selection. It is from there that I noticed that I didn't have the option to do a screen recording. I may be that this version doesn't allow for such but when I purchased the software the next higer version was a $500 dollar version that was way beyond my needs. I was wondering if this was an addon that possibly needed to be downloaded and installed after purchase.

I'm attempting to add a couple of screen captures that should explain at least which version it is and what I see when I click the record button.

Thanks.

Hi

The screen shot of the source selection window is that of the Basic version - this is the same screen in the Plus and Premium versions.

See here for the three different versions.

JBB,

 For info:

MEP 2013 comes in three 'versions'--  basic, 'Plus' and 'Premium'. The differences are on the Magix site http://www.magix.com/au/movie-edit-pro/ under 'More information' >> 'Product comparison'.

Plus is on sale now for only $10 more than the basic one -- I'd go for it! CHeck out the full list of what you get; the shot above is just a small section. The jump to $500 you mention is for a different (albeit with many identical features) professional program, Video Pro X.

Regards,

Carl

Thanks guys. I'm liking Magix less and less. The upselling is beginning to cause some nausea.
