movie edit pro 2013: how to split video AND the audio with it?

bogacious wrote on 2/8/2013, 9:18 AM

Hi all, Just downloaed the trial, but can't figure out how to split the video, and have the audio (that I can't see on the screen??) WITH the audio. Anyone know how? I tried the help on the program, and looking around here.

I have one video with audio .mov, I click split twice to delete a section. drag the 2nd (end) section over to 1st, but the audio from the part I cut out is still there (and can't see it?!).

Also, how can I see the audio wave image along with the video?? In two other programs I've used (windows movie maker and video factory, the audio shows right underneat the video, so is easier to edit at a fine point (I can see when no audio, so where to split/cut).

Thanks!

Hi

This sounds like you have unlinked the video and audio before making the cuts and deletion.

However I think a screenshot of the timeline would help us see what is actually going on there and how you have the tracks displayed - MEP 2013 has several options, otherwise we are guessing at what has happened .

There is also an installed pdf manual available under Help, PDF Manual.

Come back with the information and then we can give a clear answer.

As magix now combines the track  to ONE, which I am not a fan of , you must UNGROUP, and then you will start to see the aud and video seperte.

there are ways to go about this, and quite simple once you get the hang of it
