Movie Edit Pro 14 stops working and closes?

wcfleenor01 wrote on 12/2/2011, 6:39 PM

When I try to place videos down in the play track, nothing shows up, and the videos won't play in the preview box. I reset the program to the default settings and when I did that, everytime I try to open a file, I get a message that Movie Edit Pro 14 has stopped working and that the program will close. Please help.

Thank You

You haven't given us much to work on! See the post at the top of this link:

Meanwhile, try closing MEP14, renaming the movieedit.ini file to movieedit.ini.bak, then restarting.

Typically you'll find it here

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MAGIX\Movie_Edit_Pro_14_PLUS\UserData\MovieEdit.ini

but if not, search for it. And if there is also a smaller one, do the same with that too.

Please let me know if that helps. We're just users like you, and feedback is appreciated.

Hi

MEP14 cannot recognise mod files.  You need to convert them to mpg or something similar that MEP 14 can handle.

Search Google for converters - there are many free ones - some good some indifferent but the one most people here recommend is Super, make sure you get the free version.

I personally use the AVS4You video converter - not a freebie!.
