Move Movie Studio 2025 Platinum to new PC

Hello,

I am looking to move Movie Studio 2025 Platinum to a new PC. I know I can download the software and keys from "My Products" on the website. However, I have upgraded this several times over the years.

Movie Edit Pro Plus
Movie Studio 2023 Platinum
Movie Studio 2024 Platinum
Movie Studio 2025 Platinum

I'm assuming I cannot just install "Movie Studio 2025 Platinum", if that was an upgrade package. Can I Just install "Movie Edit Pro Plus" then go straight to "Movie Studio 2025 Platinum" ?

What installation path do I need to follow ?

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

If your account, My products, shows a valid key and link for the installer for MMS 2025 Platinum, there is no need to do anything other than download and install it! Each version is a fully-fledged, and independent installer in its own right; unlike some other software manufacturers, an "upgrade" will not check there is a previous version already installed.

All recent versions of Magix software automatically overwrite older versions of the same edition; so, if you e.g., install MMS 2024 Platinum and then upgrade to the 2025 release, the older one will first be uninstalled before the newer one is installed.

EDIT: to add; if you still have access to the old computer you should deactivate its installation of MMS 2025 (via the Help menu). If you do not have that access for any reason, you can carry out the deactivation via the "Show more details" link under the listing for MMS 2025 in your account. Doing this will ensure you do not encounter a problem registering and activating the new installation because the server thinks you already have the maximum of two installations "active".
