Hi

Are you using a wireless mouse?

What seems to trigger this behaviour? Is it during preview or just when the program is doing nothing?

It is a Microsoft optical wireless mouse. Drivers are up to date. Anytime I attempt to move the mouse. It doesn't happen when doing nothing. Doesn't matter what function, Preview, Record, Edit, Master....

Scenestealer wrote on 7/10/2016, 5:24 PM

I had the same problem with the same mouse. It may be bad wireless communication between the mouse and the wireless USB dongle. Try shifting the dongle closer to the mouse ie the front of the computer or to another USB port.

Whilst I appreciate that you say it only happens with Magix programs, it may be just because these programs are drawing quite heavily on computer resources.

Hi

@ Pinion

Assuming you have put fresh batteries in the mouse or it is fully charged - I agree with scenestealer regarding poor wifi reception.

I also suspect there may be 2 alternative issues which can affect the wireless mouse:-

interference from other radio sources eg other wirelss connected devices or mobile phone too close to the mouse / computer

or

there is an issue with the power pack in your PC dipping the 5V lines down to a level where the wireless usb dongle is on the edge of functioning when under heavy load.

For the latter what is your computer specification, please include the following:

     processor make / model

graphics card make or if using Intel integrated graphics

     RAM - quantity and type

number of hard drives and configuration if more than one

number of USB devices connected - wireless or cable

     number of wireless devices

power pack make / model and rating

Hi Pinion

. . . . power pack make / model and rating: (how can i get this info?) . . .

That should be on the power pack itself - it does mean removing the case side if that is possible.

From the processor and graphics card power requirements and the other information so long as the power pack is 450W or greater then there should be no issue with it being overloaded.

Well, thats a no go. i'm handicapped so no messing with hardware. Its a stock Dell though so i would think they would deliver it with an adequate power pack.

johnebaker wrote on 7/13/2016, 9:24 AM

Hi

Not a problem re 'messing with the hardware' - do you have the full model number of the Dell PC ?

 . . . . deliver it with an adequate power pack . . . .

That depends on the computer model - from personal experience some units, PC's and particularly laptops were delivered with small power packs - OK for general use however when doing something like video editing they can be under rated.

Hi Pinion

Thanks for the info.

Does the mouse jumping occur when Music Maker or Movie Edit Pro are virtually idle or when they are busy eg playing the timeline, exporting video etc?
