Modifying DNS Records

stephenmartarano1 wrote on 8/31/2018, 10:52 AM

Google is requesting to change some DNS records for my domain; they required this in order to activate a Google product (G Suites for my business).

Our domain name gpsclinics.com seems to be hosted by https://www.vautron.de but we do not have access to the Control Panel (Cpanel) where to manage such records. I was wondering if you may have this access and could help us modifying the information. Or, who do I contact in order to get that access?

I have the exact DNS records that need to be added/modified, and I could share that in a reply if someone from the company can help with this.

Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

You have posted your question on a user-to-user forum. It is highly unlikely that anyone employed by Magix/Xara will see and be able to respond to your request. In any event, it is highly doubtful that any Magix/Xara employee can actually assist you in modifying the DNS data.

However, a "whois" search on your domain name leads to this page. The information given includes a "Technical Contact" email address; perhaps worth trying?

That page also includes the Name Servers data for your site.

You say you have no access to your Cpanel; how do you actually upload to your server? Cpanel access is not always needed but it is very unusual, IME, for this to not be available to the owner of the domain name.

Thanks for the info and help, Jeff. I'm actually new to this whole experience, but I have created the website through Xara Web Designer Premium and purchased the domain through the Xara Online site. Would my Cpanel be accessed through the Web Designer software? I'm going to reach out to this technical support email address that you showed me through the "whois" page.

Hi

See item 1 of this FAQ re your control panel. Note: if Google want you to setup/change MX records - for email - this may not be allowed.

Hi John,

Thanks for sharing that FAQ. Is this the one I'm supposed to be looking at: "1.) How can I upload my website to XARA Online and thus onto the Internet?" I read through the answer and I couldn't find any info regarding a control panel.

Hi

My bad should have been item 6 for how to get to the settings.

Browse to xara-online.com and log with the email address and password you use for Xara, this will take you to the Control Center as shown below.

Select Domains to go to the Control Panel.

If the capability is there you should see the settings you are looking for.
