MMS2023 or MM2024 to new version MM2025

Roberto-Goncalves wrote on 8/14/2024, 8:34 AM

Hi ,

For those who come from the versions above and have "already" used version 2025 since it was released, do you consider it stable? Any new bugs? From what I've done in small evaluations, there are at least 2 bugs since version 2023 that have not been fixed and previously notified to support via tickets but without a solution: 1st "save object as take" does not work as expected causing an exception/memory violation and 2nd "lack of memory in cases where there is available memory but MMS cannot maneuver and the user is forced to close the program and load it again". This occurs more when the user uploads videos "between" projects to produce new videos (menu manage project/import movie file/.mvd)

Thanks!

Hi

MMS 2025 works fine on my PC, which is of similar spec to your laptop utilising the UHD 630 only - ie I 'disabled' my RTX 2060 GPU.

The Take bug affects only Video Pro X. In MMS 2025 using the Save as take option and dragging the take from the Takes folder works correctly.

A bug that I found, and has been confirmed by other users and Magix, and sent to the developers, is with some of the transition previews having Chromakey Alpha applied to them, see here for an example.

. . . . lack of memory in cases where there is available memory but MMS cannot maneuver and the user is forced to close the program and load it again . . . .

Can you provide a link to this 'bug'.

It is important that the Intel UHD630 drivers are up-to-date - the current version is 31.0.101.2128 ?

2025: The autosave bug is still here, the Camera/Zoomshot bugs are still here, the interface is worse (smaller icons).

You get AV1 export support.

I wouldn't bother.

All my forum comments are based on or refer to my System 1.

My struggle is over! I built my (now) system 2 in 2011 when DV was king and MPEG 2 was just coming onto the scene and I needed a more powerful system to cope. Since then we've advanced to MP4 and to bigger and bigger resolutions. I was really suffering, not so much in editing (with proxies) but in encoding, which just took ages. A video, with Neat Video noise reduction applied, would encode at 12% of film speed. My new system 1 does the same job at 160% of film speed. Marvellous. I'm keeping my old system as a capture station for analogue video tapes and DV.

Hi,

After describing the bug about saving part of the audio or only the video in the "save as take" item that has been present since the planinum versions MMS2023, 2024 and in the test version 2025, I simply cannot raise a ticket! Could it be that the support server routine has a bug too?

In both versions 2023 and 2024, I had opened a ticket for each one!

Hi,

I managed to open a new ticket. But now, in addition to the support channel, I will try the channels above (from whoever is paying for it) to see what really happens. Note that MMS is a good product, but what is really happening "technically"? Are they using third-party routines that are out of date?

Hi,

It's going to rain from above! Finally, someone from technical support has at least spoken out, claiming that they are aware of this bug (which would take a long time to fix), and they have a list of priorities to be resolved.
