@zadiac Try to temporarily disable your Windows Defender Firewall. Maybe it blocks Magix updater. Don't forget to turn it back on.

Nope. Doesn't help.

@zadiac Ok, you can ask customer support at infoservice@magix.net for a direct download link to this update. I also believe, that if you uninstall Music Maker and redownload it from Magix.com it should be the newest version.

Hi

. . . . The one here on this main pc is still on v30.0.4.44 and doesn't update. . . .

Do you mean:

  1. the update downloads and starts to install and fails, if so is there any error message?

    or

  2. the update is not being notified by MMM?

What is your Antivirus/Firewall program.

I tried the uninstall and reinstall, but it installed the current version again and keeps saying it's up to date. I already sent a message to infoservice@magix.net about this. Waiting for them.

No. It never updates. It says the curent version is up to date, but on my laptop, it updated to the next version. I don't have my laptop with me right now, so I can't check the exact version number it's on now, but it's higher than 30.0.4.44. It's 30.0.5.xx

zadiac wrote on 5/2/2022, 11:28 AM

My antivirus is Bitdefender. I disabled EVERYTHING firewall and antivirus related, but it still doesn't update.

zadiac wrote on 5/2/2022, 12:09 PM

Also, quite strange. Normally when you install MMM it leaves behind the large installation file in the MAGIX/Downloads folder, but on the laptop it didn't. I thought I could just copy it here and install, but it wasn't there. I checked the laptop and the version now installed there is 30.0.5.47.

Hi

When you install the program for the first time the installer is loaded into, and left in, the Installationmanager subfolder of the above folder you quoted.

Patch updates are usually stored in a temporary location and are deleted upon completion of the update.

I am having a similar issue with an identical scenario and a different Magix program and as yet have not found a resolution for forcing it to patch to the latest version on the PC.

Check my previous comment. I already mentioned it.

Anyway. Thanks to everyone for your comments. Magix sent me a link to the large installation file for that version number. Downloading it now. I consider this now solved, but still don't know why MMM is doing that.
