I load my project and then I play it. After loading a new sound file, it just freezes up and I have to use task manager to close it.

I'm having the same issue and it's a shame no one has an answer to this yet.

Hi

We need more information then you have given to be able to even start diagnosing the issue you are having.

Computer specification and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full - I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are the graphics card drivers up to date?

Which 'Sound file(s) are giving the issue?

If they are not Soundpool loops then what is the the format, sample rate and bitrate of the audio files that cause the 'freeze'.

Download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the clips and post the results, see this tutorial, if you are not familiar with MediaInfo, on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a media file to geet the required information in the correct format.

The amount of free space on the hard drive(s) you have.

Was there any error dialog that popped up when the crash occurred, if so what was the message?

See this tutorial on how to diagnose the crash without the need to dig around in the Crash log where generated.

Installed RAM    32.0 GB (31.4 GB usable)
System type    64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Edition    Windows 11 Home
Version    22H2

OS build    22621.963
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22638.1000.0

Manufacturer    HP

I have 930GB of storage and 656GB of free space.

Graphics card/drivers are up to date.

No error dialogue appeared. It just freezes. This started to happen on 12/17/2022. Was not happening before.

I upgraded to Music Maker 2023.

I even turned off my anti virus and also disconnected my external hard drive.

I think I got it to work. I changed the audio buffer from over 8000 to 4000. So now it is at Buffer size - 4, Multi-Track and Preview size is now 4096. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

Thanks!
