Hi,

As a start, please do the following:

1. Reboot your PC.

2. Start MM with a fresh project.

3. Reset Program settings to defaults (after noting any customisation you intend to restore).

If the problem still arises:

4. Are other major applications working OK?

5. Describe the exact steps from starting MM to its crash.

Edit: I initally mis-read your product as MEP, sorry, but my suggestions are still relevant.

After some troubleshooting, it became clear that the interface's ASIO driver was causing the problem. I am using Focusrite 18i8 interface. I read in a few forums that Focusrite's drivers are not very good and create a lot of glitches.  I had that problem, too. So, basically, MM was not happy with the Focusrite driver, which is why it shit down.

Apparently, ASIO4ALL makes the best ASIO driver. I downloaded it for free and installed it. Then, I configured it, so that the ASIO4ALL driver bypassed the Focusrite 18i8's ASIO driver. It worked. I have small latency issues now, but I know how to fix them.

You may also want to try to repair  the system files. Use the sfc /scannow command like shown here:

For issues about drivers, latency and hardware, feel free to use

Thanks, Jack Magix. Scanning the computer revealed two corrupted files caused by a Windows update. I found a fix here: http://thetechcookbook.com/windows-7-update-kb3022345-causing-corrupt-files/

Now all is well. Thanks also for the Resplendence link.
