Missing vst plug-n path for Music Maker 2019 Premium

Gary-Sturgis wrote on 9/26/2018, 6:57 PM

I just purchased Magix Music Maker 2019 Premium and I installed and activated the software. I went to add the vst plug-in path to Program Settings\Folders but I discovered the line isn't there to complete. Can anyone tell what my problem is and how do I fix it?

As per the instructions, you still have to go to the Store and download and install all of the features, presets, instruments and Soundpools to which you are entitled -all of the ones with an arrow on them to download. Then, everything should show up. Just be judicious in which instruments and Soundpools that you choose. There is no hurry.

I have those plugins, what I can't get is my old free vst plugins (that I downloaded from various places) in the vst folder that are tied to the vst plug-in path as I mentioned in the question at the top. Are we able to use these old plug-ins? If so how do we add them to the software? The vst plug-in path iisn't a choice in my Program Settings\Folders.

@Gary-Sturgis

I think that you misunderstand. I was not talking about plugins, but about all of the features of MM Premium. It is not enough to just activate Premium using the code, you have to actually go to the Store and do as I said. Once you do that, VST plugin button will show up under Program Settings\Folders . If you don't do this, it will not show up, nor will any of the other features that you paid for. The first one on the list is Creative Suite. If you don't download and install it, no button for VST plugins. Once that shows up, you can navigate to your VST plugins.

Ok, I have downloaded the soundpools and instruments so now what? Is there something else I need to download and if so where do I find it? Are there any instructions on how to go about and do this and if there is where do I find it as the instructions with the software aren't clear enough?

Hi

You are asking a question which has already been answered above - please reread the last comment by John CB - he tells you exactly what to do to get the VST's loaded.

Same problems as Gary. Two of us are trying to follow these directions. I have the button that says add VST plugins, but no creative suite comes up. nothing comes up. Gary were u ever able to fix this? How did you do it? @Gary-Sturgis

@Lois-Schofield

Not the same thing. I would expect that you followed all of the instructions. Next, read the manual.

The Creative Suite is under the Store and you have to have it and download and install it so that the VST button shows in the Program Settings Folders.

The button for VST plugins is to add the path to third party plugins, nothing to do with getting the Creative Suite. Since you have the button, then you have already downloaded and installed the Creative Content, otherwise, no VST button.

You are obviously not following or understanding the instructions.

See this:

https://www.magix.info/us/forum/music-maker-premium-edition--1217830/#ca1423045

Did you do all of this first? If yes, then read the manual and use the program.

Do you have any third party VST plugins? VST instruments?

I have the audio set to Magix Low Latency 2016. Every time I start the program it shuts the sound off for my entire computer. For example, Youtube won't play sound. And of course Magix doesn't either. I tried every other audio option and nothing seems to work. I need to restart my computer to get the sound back for the other programs. Is this also related to me not being able to figure out the VST's or is this a separate issue?

@Lois-Schofield

Your latest post is really yet another problem, unrelated to this thread! Please start a new thread with each new question, otherwise it becomes very difficult for other users who may be able/wish to help to do so without seriously hijacking and derailing an existing thread.

In this instance, I will answer your question re the Magix Low latency Audio Driver but I will then lock this thread in order to prevent it becoming even more "off original topic".

That Audio Driver is an ASIO driver; ASIO is a standard, originally invented by Steinberg, which completely bypasses ALL Windows audio, thus avoiding the latency (delays in the sound) which is created by Windows. (The Magix version is actually based on a program called "ASIO4All".) One of the "features"/"limitations" (call it what you will) of the ASIO specification is that the driver can handle the audio input of only one source at a time. So, if you're using MM with the ASIO driver, any other audio source will not be heard.

Your only option, if you wish to access more than one audio source at the same time but which is highly likely to introduce latency into your MM sound, is to go to Program Settings>Audio/MIDI>Audio Playback and select one of the other options listed there. You will need to experiment which of the options provides the best solution for you.
