Missing Soundpool

johnebaker wrote on 3/31/2019, 1:12 PM

Hi everyone

I was doing some testing in MMM 27.0.3.32 and used a couple of loops, Bellz Pluck and Pitaya Pluck, which were from a Soundpool called either Techno - Bellz or Trap - Bellz.

After the 27.03.33 update the soundpool has vanished completely, a rescan did not locate it and a search of the Soundpool directories found no trace either.

I can find no reference to the soundpool in the store or on Producer Planet.

Has anyone else seen this?

Thanks

Hi John,

They are under Live Pads, so if you don't have Live Pads scanned for Soundpools, you won't find them. For Bellz Pluck:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Live Pads\Trap\Trap The Bellz\Synth

For Pitaya Pluck:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Live Pads\Tropical House\Tropical House Tropical Nights\Sequence

EDIT: I just updated and scanned the Live Pads as Soundpools. They don't show up under Soundpools, but they do show up under Live Pads. I tried copying the folders to Trap under Soundpools and scanning them. They still don't show up. There is a file with extension .LMS. I don't know what this does, so I renamed it to .BAK under Soundpools; still no success. There must be some file that has the names or synonyms that would allow us to use them. They used to work as Soundpools, and I would like to get them again. I don't use LivePads.

Hi John

Thanks for the information, located, just need to scan for them now.

It was strange that they did not show up in a full scan of my system drive - may be related to why you cannot get them to appear as a Soundpool which is where they were originally for me.

Edit: Got them all back as Soundpools, copied the entire Trap and Tropical House folders into the root of the Soundpool folder and rescanned - also left them as LivePads.

Hi John EB,

Pleased that you found them.

I had to do a complete Rescan of the Soundpools to get these two to show up. Just scanning (Add Soundpools) them did not work.

Now, what would go with these at 100BPM? All I've got is Metal at 100 BPM. There is not a lot of material to work with. I did up 2 short ones, good for an intro or road music (some Vasco da Gama road maps).

Hi John

. . . . Now, what would go with these at 100BPM . . . .

True they are a little quirky.

I have a similar reason as you - looking for Intro or full audio track for one of my Australia projects. Early days yet however I was testing various ideas and used the following loops:

  • Techno Subliminal Inferno - Broken Beat A and Dark Bass
  • Trap the Bellz - Bellz Pluck
  • Tropical House Papaya - Papaya Pluck

Tweaking the BPM where necessary.

Hi John EB,

The Live Pads loops come with a full song for each Soundpool group. For inspiration, you may want to give them a listen.

I imported "Trap - The Bellz.ogg" into VPX then got the beat using Remix Agent, at 148.69. However, the loops for Trap the Bellz are at 75 according to the BPX.inf. This seems to be the norm - the songs are not at the same BPM as the loops. When I bring in some loops, they line up. How does this work - 148.69 with 75?

I am looking for something to go with China and Thailand. I found a Magix song for China and one by Eric Matyas for Hong Kong. Looking for Thailand. Also a work in progress as I'm still scanning in trips 2 and 3 to Thailand from the late 90's. I had put aside two other projects as I got stuck trying to invent an intro for one, and music and sound FX for both. I have to finish one of these today, so I'm trying to score a hunting film from 1995, when my sister-in-law killed Bambi.

Hi John

Thanks for the tip, I have been playing further with the loops and am beginning to feel as though I am getting somewhere. However I have been 'requested' to cut down the bass and drums significantly 😞.

. . . . How does this work - 148.69 with 75 . . . .

Interesting - almost double the BPM, makes me suspect the Remix agent is detecting a double beat, it certainly sounds possible 😵 after listening to the track.
