Missing images and title

guru wrote on 10/24/2011, 3:42 AM

I am using Movie Edit Pro MX Premium.

I created a project that uses several images and titles that fade in and out as the film progresses.

When I preview the film everything shows up fine on the screen, but when I export to any type of video at least two images and one title do not show up during the playing of the movie.

I tried compressing the images and then importing them back in but it still does not help. I am also at a loss as to the missing title. There is nothing that would obstruct it and again, when I preview the project everything shows up fine it is only when I export to video.

Thank you for your assistance!

Hi,

FWIW I've had occasional behaviour like that too. For example, last week when using a collage effect my exported HD MP4 from MEP17 had a missing section, yet previewed perfectly. Such (rare) instances remained inexplicable and essentially I just 'fixed' them by persistently trying one or more of these operations:

1. Closing MEP17  and rebooting my PC.

2. Starting an entire new project and re-importing all the material used in the target project.

3. Ditto but confined to the section containing the troublesome part .

4. Ditto but after making a trivial edit externally to the quirky image(s).

5. Select everything, deselect the tracks you are using. and delete what's left. (Theoretically that's nothing, but just in case there's a 'fragment' somewhere.)

6. Play and export a previous small project (presumably successfully) and then return to the troublesome one.

7. Change video mode: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4019461/MEP17-VideoMode.jpg

I don't think I've had a title go missing. Did the problem persist after changing it to a different type? Does the behaviour remain even if the title fades are removed?

Do you have an earlier version of MEP you can try?

Is it practical to create a very small project that demonstrates the problem, zip up all its components, and upload them so others can try it?

Hi Terry!

Thanks for your reply.

I solved the problem by selecting all of the items and dragging them down to below the 12th track then exported the movie successfully.

I think this is a bug in the software although it could be because I started with the documentary template instead of from scratch and there may have been something hidden on the offending track.

In any event, cheers!

Michael
