missing feature

I just (today) purchased the Movie Studio Platinum 2022 365 subscription Version 21.0.2.138 (UDP3). I watched the tutorials before purchasing. In the movement effects tutorial there is an effect called Rotation/Mirror. It has several types of rotations. This feature is missing in my program. it has the same icon but it is called Orientation and has limited rotation effects. This feature is one of the main reasons I bought this program. Why would the tutorial show a feature the program doesn't have? I am really upset. I don't know what to do. If my version of the program doesn't have this feature, how do I get out of the contract? I hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance.

@rwright88 Hi, did you have a look at Size/Position/Rotation?

PS click on the numbers then move your mouse cursor left & right to increase & decrease the number, the X at the end resets the values, the majority of things can be keyframed, you may have to create one keyframe first but then alterations will be keyframed automatically after, right click on the media or on the tree dots top right to Reset Video effects, this will delete all alterations to that clip/media

I apologize. I just discovered that the feature I was missing has actually been moved. It is now in the Size/ Position effect. It is now called Size/Position/ Rotation. I'm sorry, but maybe this knowledge will help someone else.

@rwright88 👍 It can be frustrating when things don't seem as they should, glad you're sorted,

Hi,

It gets better. The new version with Size/Position/Rotation (SPR) on the same page also has options for XYZ, XZY, ZYX, etc. This allows you to change the way you want the rotation effect to work. The third variable always revolves about its axis, or something like that. The first variable will revolve around its axis as modified by the third varible. Try XYZ vs ZYX. Modify the third variable first, then play with the first one for each case. The result is quite different.

However, we have noted some bugs with certain other effects whereby they still use the old Size/Position. This leads to problems using them and then trying to keyframe using SPR. This has been reported to Magix.

Hi

In addition to the features @browj2 has mentioned, the biggest change with Size, Position and Rotation is that the reference point for all actions has changed to the centre of the Preview monitor and the image/video/title objects - previously it was the top left corner for the preview monitor and objects.

There is the capability of moving the objects rotation point outside the object - this is the circle 'handle' in the centre of the object.

Do note that when moving an object by drag and drop avoid placing the mouse pointer over the centre circle.
