@Jean-Gettys 1.8 GHz is probably just the base speed of the processor in your computer? It can likely run much faster. If you are using an Intel Core i5 or an equivalent AMD processor it should be fast enough. You can just install the Free Edition of Music Maker to test it on your computer. I believe very low power CPUs for basic office laptops like Celeron or Pentium or not enough.

For best performance it is also important to use a good audio interface with ASIO drivers.

Thank you for your response! Totally appreciate any input! Here are my specs:

Processor            AMD A6-6310 APU with AMD Radeon R4 Graphics  1.80 GHz

Installed RAM    8.00 GB (6.96 GB usable)

System Type      64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Running Windows 10

I think my computer will run this software without any problems, any advice as to settings is greatly appreciated!

The turbo speed of this processor is 2.4 Ghz. However it is an old slow processor. Also the AMD Radeon R4 Graphics may not be good enough. Just download Music Maker as it's free to see how well it works. If it's fine you can purchase the Premium edition and put in your serial number. Editions are not different programs they just have additional add on features.

@Jean-Gettys Better try the Free Edition to be sure. Do you want to record your own audio (like vocals, guitar etc:), use virtual audio effects or play virtual instruments with a MIDI controller or create songs out of premade audio loops? Depending on what you want to do you need more or less CPU power. Creating songs out of premade audio loops without many effects will definitely use the lowest amount of CPU and should work fine. Adding more effects or trying to record vocals while playing your backing track with realtime effects will need much more CPU power. That is why an USB audio interface is recommended. It will take most of the audio computation load from the CPU. I believe one of the cheapest options is the Behringer UMC22 U-Phoria

I tried running 2022 (which has the same processor speed minimum requirement) on a PC that is a bit older and has a 1.8GHz processor, 750GB hard drive (nothing but windows and MMJ installed) and 16GB of RAM and it is VERY laggy (which is fine, it doesn’t meet the minimum requirement so I’m not complaining). I couldn’t use it on that machine, though.
