Your question is: "Why can't I see an image in the preview screen, but hear the sound? Previously it worked normally and recorded the image as well."

If you have upgraded MEP 2020 to MEP 2021 and you have no picture, but you have sound, then there is a possibility, that your video card does not support Hardware Acceleration on display anymore.

You can then solve this by going to:

• file / settings / program... (hotkey "Y")
• Click on the tab Import/Export
• uncheck the box next to: "Hardware acceleration on display, if possible"
• 
• Close and restart MEP 2021.

If all goes well, you should now have video and audio again.
