Midi Event Ending Prematurely

AL20 wrote on 4/13/2022, 12:26 PM

I have a midi event which triggers a percussion hit. No matter how long I draw the note, the tail of the percussion hit is being cut prematurely. I tried editing the event properties directly, but I can't set the length value higher than 440 ticks.

Any idea what's going on here?

Curiously why?

I am specifically triggering a cymbal bell sound in Addictive Drums 2. When I trigger the sample with my Midi controller, the full duration of the audio sample plays. But when Acid plays the event on the timeline, the tail of the audio sample is truncated.

I thought this might be caused by the midi note being of too short a duration, but no matter how long I make the note (ie, whole note, etc) the truncation still occurs.

More confused!

Is it an audio event or a midi event?

If audio, is it a loop, an one-shot or beatmapped?

Or these expressions are incomprehensible for you?

audio sample = audio file

midi event = midi note on the timeline

midi note on timeline outputs to a virtual synth, which plays an audio sample

something is causing Acid to prematurely terminate the sample. It triggers but ends before the end of the actual audio event
