MIDI Editor plays random notes during playback

Skoopa wrote on 3/1/2019, 3:33 AM

So I used MIDI rec to record a tune. Then I go into the MIDI Editor to adjust it/clean it up.
But during playback, random notes of the tune would start playing.
This happens almost every time I 'Stop' playback, It takes a few seconds then blasts random notes.

It also sometimes increases the loudness of notes in playback (the notes are normally the same volume as everything else, only sometimes randomly increasing volume)

These glitches really make the MIDI editor the biggest pain to use.

I hope someone can help, I really want this program to work well.

Hi,

This problem has been mentioned many times by users in this forum.

Magix is aware of the problem and is working on a solution. It seems to be quite complicated and may take quite a while to get it fixed.

It's quirky as you suggest ... at best. It will work but you must save every couple of minutes or you will lose a lot of MIDI editing work. Be aware the auto-backup feature seems to only work randomly. I'm also frustrated at the "lag" between playing a QWERTY keyboard note and sound response of the plug-in instruments, haven't tried an acctual MIDI keyoard yet but if Magix can't get direct entry to work I can't imagine MIDI input is going to be any better.

I think the increased volume is a side effect of when the ghost notes plays on top on the same actual playing notes and instrument at the same time. But I know exactly what you mean...

I have the same issue and it drives me bonkers. I submitted a ticket about three months ago (and I know countless others have as well). So here's hoping they can find that magic fix. Or should I say "Magix" fix.
