MIDI driven autotune vst not working

Abx77 wrote on 10/4/2020, 5:08 AM

Hi,

I'm trying to use some free autotune plugins without success.

The classic autotune to a match corretct pitch works but any featured midi track driven autotune doesn't.

I tried Graillon2, gSnap, Kerovee and it seems like the midi track doesn't communicate with the plugin.

Maybe I missed some configuration, any ideas?

Thanks.

@Abx77

Welcome to the Magix forums.

"Autotune" (from any manufacturer) is designed to work on audio signals. MIDI data contains NO audio, only a series of fairly complex control signals, so can you explain a little more about exactly what you are trying to do and achieve?

Hi @emmrecs and thank you,

the plugin FX I listed, in particular gSnap and Kerovee, can be applied to a normal track i.e. a voice loop.

You can configure them to correct the pitch to a specific scale (i.e. c# major) so each note played is pitched to the nearest note in the scale. Classic autotune behaviour.

Another available function is to pitch the track following a midi track. So if the track in the timeline goes like C,G,A the plugin in the other track pitch the loop following those note.

Those plugins are well know to work in other daw softwares, I thought I could use them with Acid Studio too.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Hi

Please do not bump you post, this is a user to user forum and getting a response will depend on who is online at the time, their time zone and can help with the issue you are having.

The issue you are having with gSnap and Kerovee may be due to not being able to route the MIDI signal in Music Studio

This certainly was not possible in earlier versions of the program, however check the manual for Music Studio.
