Metadata

David-Pook wrote on 6/26/2022, 4:18 PM

Does anyone know how or IF you can add some form of metadata to the tracks you create? For example, adding the artist name and Genre would be useful.

I looked in the PDF manual documentation and doing a search for metadata brought us ZERO results. Can I assume that you cant do this with MusicMaker, but you can with a free program called Audacity?? Doesnt make sense to me.

Perhaps its staring me in the face, but can someone tell me where to find and edit metadata on MusicMaker please?

Thanks 😀

Hi

Music maker does not support ID3 tags or modifying the header data of exports.

For header data this can be done after export using Windows File Explorer and right click the file, selecting Properites, Details as shown below

There are also many MP3 ID3 editors available on the Internet.

Hi,

If you have Music Editor installed (it comes with Premium) then you should be able to do a mixdown and edit the resulting file in the external editor, Music Editor 3. There, you can add ID3 information for each track and export to MP3 with the data.

I have music maker premium 2022. Does this include music editor? Where do i find it? I am saving all my tracks as .wav and .flac files.

HI,

Music Editor is one of the programs under Downloads that you should have downloaded and installed. Once done, you'll see it show up in Program Settings, Folders.

Look up external in the pdf manual to see how this works.

Do a mixdown (after saving the project with a different name), right click and you'll be able to open the wave file with the External Editor (Music Editor 3). Once there, open its manual to see what to do to create the ID3 menu and export to MP3 as separate files, etc.

Nope, I don't have music editor in my downloads. No idea why, but its definitely not there and when i search for it in the downloads section, there is nothing returned to indicate its available or even exists. Anyone else shed some light on this??

@David-Pook

You probably would have installed it when you downloaded and installed everything under the Downloads tab in Music Maker.(not Windows Downloads). Once installed, it no longer shows up under Downloads.

The program gets installed under:

C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Music Maker\30\MusicEditor

This program is distributed with many Magix programs, including the video editors.

Thank you, I have looked at the location of C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Music Maker\30\MusicEditor and its not there.

Is there an individual music maker editor i can download from the Magix website? I have looked and can't find it anywhere.

I have no idea why its not installed and no idea why its not in my downloads. Its very weird why I don't have this 😒

Hi

. . . . C:\Program Files\MAGIX\Music Maker\30\MusicEditor and its not there . . . .

Music Editor 3 is not installed with Music Maker 2022 and is not available as an option in the program settings.

IIRC ME3 was dropped when MMM changed to 64 bit.

In addition I have Video Pro X 14 and Movie Edit Pro 2022 installed and they do have ME3 installed, however MMM does not detect either installation!

Hi John EB,

I just took a look at Magix.com comparison table and Music Editor isn't listed. That would mean that it showed up under Downloads for me due to having older activated Premium Editions.

I see no way to purchase it.

Sound Forge Audio Studio comes with MMM 2022 Premium Edition and shows up under downloads. If you install it, does it show up under Program Settings, Folders? For me, before installing ME3, there was no entry under Folders to even put in a different External Editor. Once ME3 was installed, the entry showed up and I was able to change it to SFACL3.

I don't understand Magix' logic about dropping it. SFAS does not do everything that ME3 does, as far as I can tell. A proper marketing person would have included ME3 and then tried to sell the upgrade to SFACL.
