MEP2015+: random video object are occasionally blank in preview

AndyMo wrote on 10/14/2014, 11:13 PM

I have MEP2015+ and random video clips will suddenly go "black" and show no video in the preview (i can hear audio).  The clips are fine and sometimes after reloading MEP I can work with those objects ... but then the "black" problem moves to another video object.

This was not a problem in previous versions.  Any help is appreciated.

Hi Andy,

See my answer to the question about multi-cam.

Be careful that the track image on tracks below 2 does not get turned off by using multi-cam. Check at the left of the track.

Thanks - but this is not the case.  This also happens on track 1.  In addition, adjacent clips on the same track are not affected.

Thanks John, but it is not multicam.

I can have 4 clips in a row on the same track, and one or two will go "black".  I can then reload MEP and it will be a different clip (or two) that goes black.  There is no ryhme or reason to which one.

As a matter of fact, I just did a preview of two clips in a row (cross fade transition) and it worked fine.  I then played the preview again right away and suddenly the second click went black.

It's almost impossible to use the program now because I can't see the clips to trim them.

SOLVED
It took a long time to fix this.  I went back to MEP2015 for a while and then the problem would occur again (and not just with Titles.  Magix support tried but could not figure it out either.
Eventually figured out it was a Quicktime process that was not playing nicely with MEP.  I noticed it was getting hung and burning resouces.
A clean re-install of QUICKTIME and all has been running well for a few months now.

Just posting in case anyone else gets the same issue.
