MEP2013: Automatic Save failed

terrypin wrote on 10/22/2012, 4:05 AM

I have this set as shown:

But I just went to find a backup to recover from a crash and found that despite working on various projects for lengthy sessions every day, the last backup anywhere on my HD was 5 days ago.

Anyone else ever had similar worrying behaviour please?

Hi Terry

Mine is working fine and the backups are located in the Projects folder set in the programs settings.

John

Thanks John. Never happened to me before either. My worry is that it can happen at all!

I was unable to restart the auto backups by restarting MEP (after a reboot), although the setting remained enabled.

One thing I'm still looking at is the puzzle that in some of the videodeluxe.ini files, under [Project], I see the entry

AutoSaveInterval=10, which correctly reflects Program Settings, but I don't see the entry AutoSaveActive=1. As far as I can tell, the only examples of this omission are for MEP 2013, but I'm stll working on it.

I finally restored normal operation using a backup videodeluxe.ini from a fortnight ago.

Normally I just assume these are happening and that i can fall back on one if I need to. But I'm going to be watching it closely from now on.
