MEP17+ won't record from mini-DV camera

Kami_1 wrote on 10/7/2011, 8:09 PM

This function used to work.  The last time I used the mini-DV was in May, and MEP's recording function worked with it fine.   The only change I made is to remove MEP16+.

When I first attach the camera and the Firewire, MEP doesn't appear on the list anymore, even if MEP 17+ is open.  When I open the Record window, MEP recognizes that a DV camcorder is attached.  Everything is checked as before.  But when I open Device Options (on the record window), everything is grayed out.

And when I hit the Red record button, nothing happens.  If I start the camera manually and then hit Record, the camera stops playing!

I used Nero Vision, one of the selections on Windows"What do you want to use" list.  I was able to capture/record the video with that, although the audio was corrupted.

I rebooted the computer, and got the same results.

Any input is appreciated, thanks.

I've noticed different people in each forum, and I want as much "coverage" as possible.  I have both forums bookmarked.
