@pitson

What size is your hard drive?

What, exactly, are you attempting to do at the precise point when the crash occurs?

Is any crash "repeatable" i.e. a certain set of actions will ALWAYS provoke a crash, or is it rather more random?

Graphic Intel (R) HD Graphics 4600, is your onboard graphics driver updated?

Did you try and Reinstall your Intel drivers here

Finally you can check this thread to see if it helps you here

"You have installed and uninstalled many times? Have you tried to use the free Revo uninstaller which removes everything and scans the registry for remnants of the software and then Reinstall software?

In addition to everything that @PATIENT-X has written, I think you need to remember this: you say you have been using Windows 7 with this programme from 2012! I'm afraid that's not strictly true!

You may have been using various versions of MEP Plus since 2012 but version 18, which you currently have, is the 2019 release of the app, so released some time after Microsoft stopped updating/improving Win 7! I'm not sure, but I suspect MEP 2019 was not designed to run under Win 7.

Hi Jeff.

I know I was using Win 7 when I had MEP 2018 and possibly also 2019. I think the need to have at least Win 8.1 came with the 2020 Infusion engine version but I changed over to Win 10 while I had the 2019 version of MEP.

My thoughts in this instance is a possible hardware malfunction. A CPU doing this amount of work over that period of time could easily be suffering from either needing the CPU cooler to have a good clean out of grime and dust or that the thermal paste has completely dried out and is next to useless. Either or both could cause crashes.

Although pitson has said the processor is an i7 4460 I can only find evidence of an i5 4460 with no inboard graphics chip so the processor would be working quite hard and possibly generating enough heat to cause problems for any heat transfer process over time.

Ray.

Hi Ray

CNET reviewed this model, I found out that there are so many variations for example below

Acer Veriton M6630G-i74770X - MT - Core i7 4770 3.4 GHz - 8 GB - SSD 250 GB | VM6630G-I74770X onboard HD4600

I remember reading that @pitson model or type in variation had Cpu issues or hardware issues.

Hi Ray

As you say the 4460 is Intel i5 only, i7 is 4770 and upwards which I can see searching the Web.

Hi

. . . . Intel core7 mis-4460 . . . .

Can you clarify which processor you have - there is no such processor - is this an Intel Core i5-4460 ?

The Access Violation error 0xc0000005 error is usually caused by Windows system installation error.

Check that your Windows installation is OK following steps 3 to 11 only in this tutorial, although it refers to Windows 10 the procedure is the same for Windows 7.

Hi Stephen.

I too saw the comments about the Intel i5 4460 on the Intel forums but did not look at specifics or fixes.

It is possible that if it is that processor, that Pitson may have to get answers or fixes from the Intel forums rather than here.

However, the inclusion of an integrated GPU does point to it not being that processor.

Can you go into task manager and click performance of your Cpu and upload a screenshot using the up arrow above the text message box.
