Dual layer DVD's burned on MEP 14  are unreadable on any device. When Burning MEP recognizes the drive and the DVD-R DL and 7 hours later gives a successful burned dialogue but the Disc is unreadable. I can see data burned but it only fills abour 1/4 the disc and as I am writing over 7gb it shoud have most of the visible layed filled...

Hi

. . . . . Dual layer DVD's burned on MEP 14 . . . .

Do you mean MEP 14 or MEP 2014 ?

If MEP 2014 please use this name to avoid confusion with MEP 14 which was released in 2008.

. . . . Burning MEP recognizes the drive and the DVD-R DL and 7 hours later gives a successful burned dialogue but the Disc is unreadable. . . . .

Is this unreadable in a DVD or BD player or on computer?

What brand discs are you using?

. . . . I can see data burned but it only fills abour 1/4 the disc and as I am writing over 7gb . . . .

How long is the video on the timeline?

Is MEP saying the disc spaced to be used is over 7GB?

What is your computer specification, Windows version and DVD writer make / model.?

What settings are you selecting for the DVD burn?

Hi

Thanks for the detailed reply.

. . . . it's something with the DL authoring . . .

I agree - there are several possibilities:

  1. The MEP burn routines are not up to date for your burner - you can download and install the latest routines here.

  2. The RiData disc is faulty, try a different brand eg Verbatim (I do not have problems with their DL discs)

  3. The LG burner requires its firmware updating - this should be downloaded from LG if available.
