That's not true. There have been two updates that have sorted out various problems. You can always contact Magix sales and ask for a refund if you can't use the over priced Loops Unlimited. You could always reload MM2020 for now.

Why would I want to go back to 2020 when I have paid for 2021, there are so many bugs it should never have been released, I didnt want it but got bombarded with ads and spam from Magix telling me it was the best, it was amazing, upgrade now for only £49, every week I had 4 or 5 emails or messages, everytime I turned MM on on my laptop it was begging me to update to 21, in the end I did................worst mistake ever

So please dont tell me to roll it back, I want what I have paid for, I want my loops unlimited to work correctly, infact I cant tell if its loops unlimited or MM that is not working, there are no error messages, its a guessing game what is knackered, it simply need MM to get off their arse and fix all the problems, we are paying customers, we have kept our part of the contract by paying for this rubbish, MM need to do the same and make sure we get what we have paid for and are paying for monthly like loops unlimited.

As for contacting sales, have you ever tried contacting Magix, its like trying to plait fog, you simply cannot contact anyone it is impossible, you go round in circles and keep coming back to the help forums, support they call it, users like yourself and I, no real Magix employees to talk to and sort stuff out.

@Peter-Wilkinson

I often raise tickets with Magix and get replies. If you are not using the ticket system, then you are not using the correct route to contact Magix.

See the sticky about known problems with Music Maker.

Crashing without warning is one of the major problems and Magix is aware of it.

The thing that is boiling my P*SS is the fact, these jokers knew all about all the bugs, it didnt work correctly, they were working on fixes, the software was terrible, everyone was complaining...............yet these jokers were still pushing 2020 users to buy this crap and most of us did and are now £49 down and pulling our hair out because they spammed and spammed until most of us caved in and bought it, they should be ashamed of themselves

Yes there were lots of bugs. So why did you buy? You don't have to fall for marketing like this or Unlimited Loops. Personally I just downloaded the free version and added all my 2020/2019 content plus the vst bridge. I haven't had a crash yet on my low power 4gb RAM laptop. There will more bug fixes and one day there will an upgrade that costs much less.

You are ranting for the wrong reasons. The program MM2021 is free and you have not paid for it. You can revert back to MM2020 as suggested.

What you have paid for is the Loops unlimited, a subscription you may stop, and possible for a plus or premium version, which in fact is a payment made to get soundpools/instruments and features. Which you may also use in MM2020.

It may not seems like that for you, but that is the fact.
I suggest that if you claim that you are not able to use your Loops unlimited subscription due to the bugs in MM2021, that you contact sales to put the subscription (if you are on a bound period) on hold to the bugs are fixed, and continue the remaining period once a release that works for you are in place.

HELP PLEASE. I noticed in one of your recent posts mention of a ticket system for support at Magix for Music Maker. I have looked all over their website and just cant seem to find how to enter a ticket anywhere. Just seems to send me in an endless loop of automated fake support messinger or to the faqs or forum. Where do I find a way to enter a ticket for a real response. Dead in the water if I cannot find that.

Go to the Magix site and log in.

At the bottom of this page there's a section on making Technical Support requests.

https://www.magix.com/gb/support/technical-support/#c71158

Follow the link to the personal service area. Probably on the first page you will have a section called "Do you wish to contact Technical Support" It will ask you which program you want support for. You will finally get to a page where you get a link to send a request.

I pay £14.99 for the loops unlimited, and upgraded from MM 2020 plus o MM 2021 at an upgrade cost of £49 so now say that again, the bit about it being free.

Peter-Wilkinson wrote on 9/7/2020, 2:05 PM

No, I would rather have the software working as I enjoy using it, its just a pain it is still so buggy, what has annoyed me is the fact Magix are still pushing this on to customers yet they know it doesnt work correctly

SP. wrote on 9/8/2020, 12:32 AM

So, when you don't want a refund why should Magix change something? Just ranting here doesn't interest them.

Please see the bold section. You could have installed MM2021 by downloading the free version, and upon installation, entered your logins to the store. Then you would be able to download and use all instruments and loops/soundpools as you had in MM2020.

The payment for MM2021 premium or plus is for a given number of extra items from the store, at a cheaper prize than buying them one by one. That is what you paid for. The subscription is for Loops Unlimited that can be used in either (or both) of MM2020 and MM2021.

OK lets put this in plain English, I bought MM2020 plus for the full price, not an upgrade but the full price, then after a few months I get constantly bombarded with emails from Magix asking me to upgrade to 2010 premium for a further £49 and I click on the tab "dont show this again" but after a while it is there again, email after email landing in my inbox asking me the same, telling me how good 2021 is, so in the end I cave in and buy the upgrade for £49 so YES my version Is a fully paid version, I have had loops unlimited for a very long time and they worked flawlessly in 2020 until I upgraded to 2021 and now are un useable, what I am saying is, Magix know this software does not work, yet they are still selling it and pushing it onto loyal customers knowing it is not fit for purpose and does not function correctly.

@Peter-Wilkinson, have you had a look at the version comparison side?
https://www.magix.com/gb/music/music-maker/version-comparison/#c1263854

The Music Maker software itself is free. Anyone can download and use the software. What you pay for on Plus and Premium is store content. That include features, loops, instruments, soundpools and more.

When you bought 2020 Plus you got 1 soundpool, 1 soundpool collection 2 instruments and 1 tiny instrument (assuming the content was same with 2020 as with 2021), in addition to a set of features. The upgrade is a discount, simply because you have paid before. So when upgrading to 2021 Premium you got additional 3 soundpools, 1 soundpool collection, 3 instruments and 2 tiny instruments, plus more additional features/content. That should give you a total of 4 soundpools, 2 soundpool collections, 5 instruments and 3 tiny instruments - in addition to having all features listed.

If you bought 2021 Premium only, full price, you had ended up paying more for less!

Expect to get offered to update/upgrade to MM 2022 premium next year. What you then pay for is the additional content, not the software. You can download the free MM version, install it and login with your existing account and obtain all your already paid for content. But there might be a new feature not available that would be included in the premium, as MM2021 now includes the 32/64 bridge. That was not part of any previous upgrades, so if I decide to pay for the upgrade I will get that feature, plus the soundpools and instruments. So far I have only downloaded the free version and uses my current store account to obtain my already paid for content. So my decision is should I pay for each new feature not already included specificallly, or do I pay for the upgrade - get all features and some additional soundpools (collections), instruments etc on top. £42.99 for 3 soundpools, 3 instruments 1 soundpool collection and 2 tiny instruments is a pretty good bargain in itself - don't you think?

I tend to agree with Peter on the paying for the upgrade thing. Yes the underlying program is free but the 2021 Premium Edition does cost £42.99 as an upgrade. It doesn't matter what additional features you get if the underlying program is not working. Some of these additional features will only work in version 2021. Magix do push it as the best thing since sliced bread but how well does it really work?

However I don't agree with Peter in that he has fallen for the marketing. The sensible thing to do with new software is test it out in this case by just downloading the free version to see how well it works. I'd go back to version 2020 and ask for a refund (it's not that hard even with the hard to navigate support system). It's clear that there are problems. But it's not clear how widespread these are. I still haven't had a crash and some of the initial oddities have been sorted. But I don't do anything complex and don't use loops.

browj2 wrote on 9/9/2020, 10:57 AM

@Graham-Hawker

I mostly use loops and have been making short sequences for videos of 8 to 25 seconds. I put 1 or 2 loops in the Arranger and then save. Each time I add one, I save because sooner or later, MMM will simply quit and reboot, usually after previewing a few loops. This happens on both of my computers.

So, there is definitely a problem that will, hopefully, be resolved soon.

Did you receive an immediate email response when you submitted your ticket, acknowledging receipt of that ticket?

If so, reply to that acknowledgement asking for a "progress report".

If you did not receive an acknowledgement it would seem your ticket "did not arrive". In which case you will need to create a new one, via this page.
