MAGIX VHW to DVD v.4

After having installed both software and hardware, with the help of a friend (expert in multimedia), I realised that the program does not work. Either I have sound and no image, or image and no sound. Tried to change the format, PAL, SECAM etc. Sometimes the images come in black and white and no sound.

What should I do? What am I going wrong?

My OS: Windows XP Pro

Software: MAGIX - version 4.0 (Rescue your videotapes)

USB connection to PC - Scart cables to VCR

1. Update the drivers for the USB capture device available here http://support2.magix.com/customer/en/download/tools

2. If you are using a scart to phono converter only use the yellow, red, and white connectors see this image

3. Search the forum - there have been several others with the same problem.

Thanks John, going to try that. And yes. Just connected the SCART plug, not the S-Video.

Hi John,

Sorry to bother you again.I 've updated the USB driver (USB Video Capture Driver (Red/White) from the site you indicated. Now I have sound, yes, always, but no image whatsoever. The zipped driver has a setup , which i ran . and an icon that says MAGIX USB-Videowandler 2. Must I run that file as well?

Run the second one Videowandler means video-converter.
