Magix stopes with the error messaged: Error in Module OpenCL.dll

Guido-Willi wrote on 4/29/2023, 12:11 PM

Hi

After changing the MB/i7-13700 (using W10a) I have reinstalled Magix Video Editor Pro 2023 including add-ons.

At startup Magix requests registration, a confirmation Window opens and startup continues.
However, before opening the project window it stopes with the error message:

Further I can not send the log file:

If I don’t close the serious error message window Magix continues working as normal. I can load, edit and export without an issue.

But when I click the close program box the session closes.

I checked with cCleaner, SFC Windows 10 and deleted videdelux.ini, but no change.

Further I uninstalled Magix again, restarted and reinstalled Magix Video Pro . No change.

Next, I started Magix as Admin, but again no success.

Finally, I deregistered and uninstalled Magix completely following this link. After restart I reinstalled Magix but no change!

Next followed this link:
https://www.magix.info/us/forum/error-in-module-opencl-dll--1286047/
Updating the Nvidia and Intel graphic drivers unfortunately did not help either.

I am running out of ideas what could cause the issue. Or are admin rights required to install Magix?

What could cause the OpenCL.dll issue? Thanks for help.

Rgds, Guido

Hi.

It could be a Windows problem. Have you tried looking here?

It is best to not have Windows or an antivirus program scan the working folders. I have all my relevant folders marked as not to be scanned.

Hi Guido

. . . . Updating the Nvidia and Intel graphic drivers unfortunately did not help either. . . . .

Did you get the latest versions for both GPU ie version 531.68 for the GTX 1080, and version 31.0.101.4314 for the Intel UHD 770.

These drivers include the appropriate OpenCL files needed for the GPU's.

Thanks for feedback.

John:
Sorry for not adding the graphics driver versions: Yes, the following versions are installed:

Intel: 4/18/2023 v31.0.101.4314
Nvidia: 4/8/2023 v(31.0.1)531.68

Ray
And thanks to the interesting OpenCL™ and OpenGL® Compatibility Pack link. Unfortunately it does not help for this issue.
I am using the native W10 antivirus protection (Defender). The other PC with i7-12kF and Nvidia 3060 works seamless.

Hi Guido.

Did you deactivate a copy of MMS before you made your component changes and then re-register the program after the changes? If not you should have as the program would not be seeing the computer as the same machine.

Hi Ray,
Yes, I did and all other apps are working seamless.

Fix: After disabling the Intel on chip GPU Magix starts up without the error message.
It looks like the Video Editor has an issue when both GPUs are on.
For the moment it is OK that way. But I guess this needs to be fixed one day.

Hi

. . . . It looks like the Video Editor has an issue when both GPUs are on . . . .

I have both GPUs turned on and usable by the program on both my PC and laptop the only difference is my integrated GPU's are the UHD 630.

I would suggest you raise a Support ticket - link is at the top of the page, select the product then scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Contact support.

Which version of DirectX is installed on the PC?

Hi.

The only thing left I can think of is check that resizeable bar is off in the bios or on if it already on in the bios.

While the 1080 can't use it and is probably ignored maybe the Intel chip needs to be set to be the same or enabled. Which I'm not sure, as I am still running a 9th gen CPU.

Hi,
Checking the BIOS setting I could not find an entry to set resizable bar on/off but Bifurcation is set to Auto.
DX12 is installed and diagnostics does not report an issue (if Intel GPU is enabled).

However, I will send a support request to Magix including error report.

Thanks for help.
