Magix Photo Manager SLOOOW to analyze files

Just started trial of Magix Photo Manager 12 Deluxe.  Selected a few folders to be scanned for pics via DATABASE > MONITOR FOLDERS menu.  Folders that have only a relatively small # of files (1,000 or so) scanned in just a couple minutes, but my main Images folder - which has about 15,000 images (in it and its subfolders) - is PAINFULLY slow.  It's been analyzing files for about 9 hours, and is only on file # 4,243 out of 15,167.

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

Hi

. . . .about 15,000 images (in it and its subfolders). . . .

There is not a linear relationship betwee a small number of folders and a huge folder with a multitude of subfolders.

The more subfolders the longer the search will take - it is a bit like looking through files in a filing cabinet - the more drawers and fiolders in the cabinet the longer it takes because you have to close the drawers and folders and open the next one before you can start searching again.
