Magix Music Maker, Problem with undo and redo, amonst other things

mehdi2 wrote on 6/6/2014, 1:45 AM

Why the bleep sometimes when I undo, the software undoes a few steps back and removes all my good changes too? I am scared of using undo as it makes me lose my work. This last time it went 5 steps back. And most of the time when I redo, it doesn't bring back half the stuff it undid. Somebody fix this bug please.

This is a USER's FORUM.  We are not MAGIX tech support.  What do you expect us to do about it?

You can try to contact MAGIX tech support, but you're not likely to get any response from them.

I'm a user with a problem of course! But it would be nice if the Magix support can look into it too. Are they not helpful? I appreciate it if you forward my question to them. Thanks.

Sometimes when you are busy composing and editing and changing things around and tahen decide you don't like it and then hit UNDO, Magix will undo the last loop or sample you used or input....its sorta hard to explain, but thats what happens.  Another thing you might want to trry is, hightlight what you don't want and just hit your Delete key, but don't hightlight stuff here and there.....one sample or 4 beat bar at a time.  Do some experimenting on a make up piece of music you don't really caare about.  I haven't seen a qestiion such as yours asked in the past.

Well, I am note deleting things. Imagine I add some effect on some audio, then add some new notes, and move some audio around by mistake and I just hit CTRL + Z to undo, and it removes all teh previous changes. Maybe Control+Z is not undo, but return to beginning.
