Magix Music Maker 2014 very slow

jimlake1947 wrote on 6/11/2021, 4:41 PM

How can I speed up my Magix Music Maker 2014, which I just reinstalled? I am using Windows 10. I have tried compatibility mode on Win 7 and Win 8, but this does not work either. The MMM used to work ok.

@jimlake1947

Hi

Is this on the same computer as your mentioned in your previous topic about Movie Edit Pro?

If so then as I previously mentioned in that topic MMM 2014 may not run properly. The computer does not have enough memory or processor power to run the program any faster when using Windows 10.

I am experiencing the same issue as just using the program for first time since getting the movie maker.. The program just seems to not want to run properly and is very slow. Won't log into account. Not computer as I can go anywhere else and internet and browse if I want with program loaded no problems. Just the actual program itself runs like molasses. Can't do anything with it or try to create anything as super slow. Can press a key and wait forever for the program to respond. But nothing else is freezing/slowing down.

@Cev You need a modern computer system with at least 8 GB RAM and a mid-class processor like an Intel Core i5 with 2 Ghz cores. Using something like a Pentium or Core i3 could be too slow. Also having less than 8 GB RAM is probably not enough.

@Cev

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

In addition to what @SP. has written, you have posted to an old thread about Music Maker 2014, but write about movie maker. Exactly which Magix program do you have?

If your program is Movie Edit Pro, please repost your question to the correct area of the forum, taking care to include FULL details of your computer, as explained in this post. Thank you.

Same problem here:
I reinstalled the MMM after a long time, since I uninstalled it - I don't know why - now I know it again :-(

I have version 30.0.4.44.
CPU i7-6700
RAM 16 GB
Win 10 Home
This cannot be too slow

The program just seems to not want to run properly and is very slow. Won't log into account.

Task manager:
CPU 16% Memory 500 MB

@Adrian-Meier The new version has a bug that causes this problem. Please contact customer support at infoservice@magix.net and ask them for a beta patch or wait until the next official patch arrives.
