Magix Movie Edit Pro vs Vegas Movie Studio 15 - which is better?

Hi all. I downloaded the trial version of Magix Movie Edit Pro (version 18.0.2.225) and Vegas Movie Studio Platinum (version 15.0), and both look really good and are available for a similar price. So which is really better, and why?

The main thing I need to be able to do is to use chroma key, as I am filming music videos for my music project with a green sceen. I also need to be able to do split screen videos and video crop/zoom (to cut out the edges of videos). Can both of these programs do these features?

@Neil-Kendall

As I indicated in your similar thread MEP can do all the things you ask about.

I don't have Vegas MS but I would be very surprised if it can't do what are pretty "standard" video editing tasks such as those you ask about. Perhaps you should post the question to the dedicated Vegas MS forum here.

@Neil-Kendall

If you go for MEP, get either Plus or Premium, not just the basic version. With basic, you will quickly run into limitations. The program with Plus and Premium is identical; the difference being the add-ons. See the comparison table and the adverts. Sometimes Plus comes with add-ons.

Presently, Premium is being offered at a lower cost than Plus, so it's a no-brainer. Get it before the deal is gone.

The same goes for Vegas Movie Studio. Go for Platinum (or Suite) which you have anyway. VMS 16 has just been released by Magix, so you might like to download a new Platinum trial.

As for which is best for you, only you can really answer that by trying both. But to try them properly you need to give them both a good thorough workout, not just a few hours play. Both have 30 day trial periods so you have time. But you may find limitations in the trials as VMS will only render projects up to two minutes, unless this has recently changed.
