MAGIX Movie Edit Pro Premium Keeps Not Responding

Rpalm wrote on 12/21/2021, 7:57 PM

I've been using Movie Edit Pro for years but the program has been giving me alot of trouble after the recent big updates. I'm currently on windows 10 using the 2022 premium version of the program (21.0.1.1111) and I've been struggling to edit a long overdue video project but every time I open and make any tiny edit the program locks up and I have to ctl-alt-delete out of it. Editing has slowed to a crawl at best i'm too far into the project to start over and I'm getting frustrated. How do I fix this?

What are your PC specs?

Windows 10 fully patched?

Vdist runtimes up to date.

All drivers update to date?

What is the resolution of your project?

What format are the movie files you have imported?

Windows 10 is up to date. Considering just getting 11 if that might help.

My PC is still pretty new and don't have a problem running anything else. Here's what I got.

My processor: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B41717Z/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My RAM: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CQ775PR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My motherboard: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BZ239Z2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My graphics card: https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-11265-05-20G-Backplate-Graphics-Graphic/dp/B07RVCM8K7/ref=sr_1_15?crid=EXSMZ8LQ7U7H&keywords=radeon+sapphire&qid=1640179793&sprefix=radeon+saphire%2Caps%2C76&sr=8-15

The videos are .avi format the projects resolution is 1080p 1920x1080 16:9. I've had little problems with any version before the 2022 update.

@Rpalm Hi, you can't expect people to go searching on Amazon to find your system specs so can you go to the top of the page, click on your icon - My Profile & fill in your Signature with your system specs, Windows version, CPU, GPU & RAM, also which version of Magix you're using, this will then show at the bottom of comments & will help people help you,,

Fine I'll spell it out. I'm on Windows 10 64-bit and it's up to date, my processor is AMD Ryzen 7 2700 Eight-Core Processor 3.20 GHz, I have 16 GB of RAM installed, my graphics card is a Sapphire 11265-05-20G Radeon Pulse RX 580 8GB GDDR5, and I'm using MAGIX Movie Edit Pro Premium 2022 version 21.0.1.1111. Is there anything else needed before I can get some help?

@Rpalm

Hi

In order for us to help you, you have to help us by providing answers to the questions you have been asked, otherwise we end playing '20 questions' which is frustrating for you and does not help users here in the forum provide solutions to the issues you are having.

Please put your computer spec in your signature as @Former user has commented, this will help with future issues, or request you make.

. . . . Is there anything else needed before I can get some help?. . . .

Yes there is other data/information that is needed to ensure we get a complete picture of what you have and are working with - please remember we are not sat in front of your computer, we cannot see what is happening, when and what triggers the issue.

. . . . The videos are .avi format the projects resolution is 1080p 1920x1080 16:9. I've had little problems with any version before the 2022 update. . . . .

Download and install MediaInfo and analyse one of the source AVI clips and post the results, see this tutorial if you are not familiar with MediaInfo on how to setup MediaInfo and analyse a video clip to get the data in a format which you can post in a comment.

A sample AVI file uploaded to Dropbox or other file sharing site would help for us to test to see if we can replicate the issue.

A screen shot of the Program settings, Device options tab.

@Ted-Atkinson

You have posted a question about MEP Pro 2011 to a thread asking about MEP Premium 2022. Please do not hijack another user’s thread in this way but rather create a new post/thread.

In the meantime I have hidden your post, with apologies.
