MAGIX MOVIE EDIT PRO PLUS 2021 (SOUND GLITCHING)

Benjamin-Ramos wrote on 8/1/2023, 4:42 PM

I'm having extreme glitching with sound all of a sudden. My computer is fine. I've checked all kinds of ways. But playing a video all of a sudden in pro plus is all pure distorted sounds. I need this fixed ASAP to meet important production deadlines. My computer is a Victus 016 Ryzen 7 so it's up to date. This problem happened out of nowhere. I tried restarting my PC. Didn't work.

@Benjamin-Ramos Does this also happen with a new project?

@Benjamin-Ramos Some other idea. In case you have a sample rate conflict, please check that your playback devices use the same sample rate as your project.

It’s happening with a movie file I’ve worked with many times. As well as any other video file. Like I said, this happened all of a sudden. I toss in a video, play it, and it’s all glitchy and sound is crazy distorted from highs to lows, incomprehensible. I shut down my PC because usually I just let it sleep with the program running. Perhaps that’s the problem. But still, everything else in my PC works except for this program which I need to work ASAP.

Hi.

Sorry no-one else has answered this yet but you haven't supplied much useful information as yet that could help pin down the problem. Please look at this page to see the type of information to give and possibly add your program settings for audio to the list asked for on that page.

The most common reason for audio glitching is in the selection of audio driver in the program settings but could also be a wrong setting in the movie settings such as choosing the wrong audio sampling rate for your project that doesn't match the sampling rate of your video files. Other factors could also be playing a part.

The more you can tell us, the more likely we will be able to help.

Ray.

Sorry to politely inform you that your initial assessment of this situation is dead wrong. I supplied the only details that I believe were both relevant and available in accordance to this very particular scenario. Luckily the problem has been resolved all by itself, as I had hopefully expected, thus proving my suspicions to be correct, as it was simply a direct result of leaving my PC in sleep mode with an open project. I meant to come back sometime to update this post, however I’ve been extremely busy and want to thank other posters here (other than Ace) for their polite interaction and sincere concern for my temporary unfortunate situation. As of now the problem has not come back, but if it does, and my only known solution to completely shut down the PC doesn’t work, I will surely come back to continue this thread or begin a new one. I do hope Magix looks into this case to see if there is anything they can do to help prevent such glitches from happening in the future. If not, all is good for now.

@Benjamin-Ramos

The sarcasm and tone of your latest reply is not appreciated in these forums. Ray (CubeAce) is a very knowledgeable member of this user to user forum. There are no Magix staff here so anyone who tries to help another user is doing so entirely of their own freewill.

I am glad that the simple process of restarting your computer resolved the problem for you - it actually is often a remedy for all sorts of difficulties - but please ensure you do not post again using sarcasm or your access to these forums will be withdrawn. Please re-read the Community rules, especially #1; you agreed to accept these when you originally joined the forums.

emmrecs, There was absolutely no sacrcasm stated by myself. I’m surprised you’re appearing to try and incite a dramatic situation, as a moderator, out of an already solved case. Ace stated the following “you haven't supplied much useful information as yet that could help pin down the problem” which is completely false, as I have supplied the only useful information that I had at the time, which actually turned out ending with me, the only one here to solve my own problem. It had nothing to do with “restarting my PC” which, again, you clearly failed to understand what the actual solution was. The solution was to shut down my PC and not leave it in sleep mode. That is not “simply restarting my PC” as you have incorrectly stated. I have no desire for any type of immature drama. May I remind you that you too have agreed to be polite in these forums so I refuse to be bullied and / or harassed (threatened) by a malicious unjust “moderator” like yourself, of which I will surely report to Magix if you do take any wrongful retaliatory action against me. It works both ways. Now please take your completely unprofessional replies somewhere else as everything has been resolved, which you, in fact, have clearly failed to understand. Good day and please do better. Thanks.

@Benjamin-Ramos

Thank you for your latest response.

The process of "shutting down" a PC is not the same as "restarting" it. The former saves ALL then current settings and restores them when you next start the computer. "Restarting" resets all those settings to their defaults and thus creates, in essence, a "new" machine configuration. I believe this is why, when Windows updates are being installed, the user often is required to Restart their computer in order to complete the update process. The fact that shutting down your PC resolved your problem is, perhaps a little surprising, but I am pleased that it worked for you.

When Ray asked you for more details he also pointed you to a pinned post, written by a member of Magix staff, detailing the level of information which is the ideal for helping we, fellow-users, to assist other users in resolving any problems with the software.

Like you, I have no wish to make this thread into any sort of drama. My perception of your comments is that they at least came across as sarcastic towards Ray; clearly you do not see them in this way.

I think this thread has gone far enough and so I am going to close it. Should you disagree with me about this please feel free to send me a Private Message.
