Magix movie edit pro 2016 screen resolution

Hello. sorry if this may have been posted before. I have been trying to burn a Blu ray of a recent vacation and with then end result, it seems the video from the blu ray player looks like it's zoomed in. I have tried this on my computer with the same results. I have tried to re do the project with a lower screen resolution (1280 x 720) but the files once transfered go back to the same high resolution of 1920 x 1080. Any advice?

Hi

We need more information in particular:

   - Project settings

   - Burn settings ie which option you selected in the Burn dialog.

Screen shots of these would help ( crop to show the required dialogs ) and any other relevant information about the project eg what effects eg zoom etc have been applied to the timeline.

Thanks for the quick response. Origionally I had the movie settings at NTSC full HD 60P 16:9 1920 x 1080. I lowered that to NTSC HDV1 720P 16:9 1280 x 720.

In the burn dialog I origionally had the encoder settings at BD NTSC 1440 x 1080. I lowered that to BD 720P 60 NTSC 1280 x 720.

I noticed that even when the files are transfered to the scene overview area they're Still at 1920 x 1080.

Hi

. . . . In the burn dialog I origionally had the encoder settings at BD NTSC 1440 x 1080. I lowered that to BD 720P 60 NTSC 1280 x 720. . . . .

Assuming you are aiming to play the BD on a  16:9 Full HD ie 1920 * 1080 TV, then the burn settings are incorrect and the player may be zooming / stretching the image to fill the screen.

Try setting the BD to 1920 * 1080i PAL (NTSC if in US) Default.

. . . . I noticed that even when the files are transfered to the scene overview area they're Still at 1920 x 1080. . . . .

Assuming you mean the source files and they are 1920*1080 then that is correct - MEP is a none destructive editor.  It is only when you export or burn to a different resolution that the final product changes resolution.

I got the same results, however after further research watching the Blu rays on my computer It looks like the picture is indeed correct, not zoomed in a little like what it looks like on the TV. I think what also may come into play is we have a 6 year old cheap 720 TV and and older cheap Blu ray player. I'll have to try this on a different TV and player.

Thank you
