Magix Movie Edit Pro 2016

Hi there,

I want to add top and bottom black borders to my 16:9 video.  But I've looked everywhere and can not find a setting which automatically scales borders to the video, or as a seperate layer.  I don't want to have to create them in Photoshop and free hand ajust them on the video, because you won't get them looking exactly the same.  Plus, it's not professional.

Their must be a settings for border scaling, as other editing software has that option :)

Thanks

Hi,

You want to recreate the look of 4:3 video size and you use a 16:9 video size with the last generation player. Open the Magix video software using your wmv file and add 2 rectangles fill with black color you can use title function or I letter streched to the size. Make you test using on top video track 2 rectangle one on left and the other on right also test on botton and top. Export a short movie and evaluate the result.

I see, then you can't just have the feature on Magix.  Which has the black borders scale feature.  I think I have to just do it in Photoshop, and ajust it auto matically using Magix's size feature.

Thanks for your help Yvon-Robert :)

Hi

If you are trying letterbox a 16:9 video in a 4:3 ratio final video - then set the project to a 4:3 aspect ratio - the 16:9 video will be automatically scaled to fit and top / bottom equal size black borders will be created.
