Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus doesn't read some MOV files

When I bought the Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus back in 2013, it worked OK on my computer (HP p7-1520t).  But now the program no longer reads or recognizes MOV files (obtained from my Nikon Coolpix L820 camera).  I get a message: "To use MPEG-4 Basic function, a one-time activation is required."  And when I click to proceed with Activation, I get another message: "The activation of MPEG4 Basic failed.  If you are using the program as a guest, please repeat the activation procedure with administrator rights".

Notes:
1)  The Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus works OK for MOV files obtained from a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 camera.
2)  Within the last year, my computer has changed the operating system to Windows 10.
3)  Within the last year, I have also installed Norton Security onto my computer.

Hi

MOV files are 'Container files', it is the internal codecs used that can be different.

. . . . The Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus works OK for MOV files obtained from a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS8 camera. . . . .

It will - the video codecs used are MPEG compared to h.264 / MP4 for the Nikon which you are being asked to activate

. . . . Within the last year, my computer has changed the operating system to Windows 10. . . . .

Was this an upgrade from Windows 7 or 8?

If yes then the error message

. . . . The activation of MPEG4 Basic failed.  If you are using the program as a guest, please repeat the activation procedure with administrator rights". . .

Is typical of one of the issues that can arise from ugrading to Windows 10 from 7 or 8.  In which case you need to re-install MEP using this procedure.
