Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 Chroma Key Not Working?

Ems37 wrote on 6/17/2013, 12:53 PM

I've looked for an answer to this question for a while, but all I can seem to find is glitches with the chroma key, not just the whole thing not serving its purpouse.

I have taken a screenshot of a game avatar with of various shades of green and blue plus black and white backgrounds and then tried to remove the backgrounds on all those images using the chroma key, and whatever I seem to do playing around with it, doesn't remove the background. I'm wondering what I should do?

I am using Magix Movie Edit Pro 2013 On Windows 7 by the way..

Hi,

Show us a few screenshots of the images from which you are trying to remove their backgrounds.

I assume you've read the Help or PDF manual on using Chroma Key?

Have you ensured that the foreground shouldn't contain colours similar to the chosen background?

Did you experiment with the two sliders?

Hi,

Using software like Magix or any software using same level technology you cannot remove green background, because the background is not uniform green color or uniform color. Any developer protects his work especially game software. They created using green screen but during montage, they add a layer (bottom) using color mixture and effects. Probably Adobe Premiere Pro and final cut can create mask to isolate the actors. This is Mission Impossible using common tools.

Hi,

Use a paint program to check the background is filling with uniform color. In near all paint programs you have an eyedropper tool or a color pick up tool. From your grab picture open in a paint program and use the eyedropper to check the color code and color uniformity. Pick many place and note color code this help also to use sliders inside the Magix software.

Sometimes fill object an border have different code or border is transparent showing the color on bottom layer. Preferable to merge layer before exporting.
