i have recently bought a new pc a Dell XPS 8300 intel core i5 processor - windows 7, I now seem to have problems when editing, each time I want to split or cut and remove scenes, it freezes up for twenty or thirty seconds, making it a time consuming job when editing a 3 hour video, could you please help in resolving this problem.

Hi,

Normally a i5 computer has Windows 7, 64 bits version. and at least 8 gig memory if you want to edit HD video you need power also check to use in configuration form File Menu, Setting, Program, select the tab Video-Audio and check box half or quart resolution this help the processor to save time with calculation and not cut the video quality with rendering.

TRY IT IS THE WAY TO WORK

YR thank you for answering,

I tried changing the Video-Audio box to half but it still froze up, even to quart resolution but the picture was all fuzzy, when I click the drop down box to cut, it freezes for a few seconds, then when I highlight the frame to be deleted it freezes again, infact at every step of the way it freezes, even when I shut the programme down there is a delay before it closes, help please I don't know what else to do

thank you

Hi,

Try to close unnecessary programs running in background, use Ctrl +ALT + Del key to open the program manager and close application you don't need, also turn off you antivirus temporary. Run your Magix program. Personnaly when I work with a video program I use the program manager to turn off application. My computer is a i7 with 16 meg memory and soon I use more than 3 or 4 video track is too long to wait the rendereing.

i don't have any programmes running in the background when i am using magix, and i don't like the idea of turning off my anti virus programme, my last pc was windows 7 and had no problem with that until the pc packed up, i also run magix extreme photostory on cd and dvd 8 for my photos, and have no difficulty with that programme, is there any other reason for my problem
