Magix movie edit bug

Kowa1 wrote on 6/4/2013, 4:16 AM

Hi!

I convert MyFilm.mp4 to avi movie ( avi container ) with different codec and parameters:

=======================

Avi ( Avi - Audio-Video Interleaved )

MediaInfo
Video Codec = F: H.263 ID: H263 ( format H.263 ID H263 )
Audio Codec = mpeg V1L3 ( mpeg audio Version 1 Layer 3  = Lame )

or

MediaInfo
Video Codec = F H.263 ID H263
Audio Codec = mpeg V1L2
=======================

Avi ( Divx Video )

MediaInfo
Video Codec = F: MPEG-4 Visual ID: DivX 5
Audio Codec = mpeg V1L3

or

MediaInfo
Video Codec = F: MPEG-4 Visual ID: DivX 5
Audio Codec = mpeg V1L2
======================

Avi ( Xvid Video )

MediaInfo
Video Codec = F: xvid ID: xvid
Audio Codec = mpeg V1L3

or

MediaInfo
Video Codec = F: xvid ID: xvid
Audio Codec = F: PCM ID: 1

or

MediaInfo
Video Codec = F: xvid ID: xvid
Audio Codec = F: AC-3 ID: 1
======================

When importing them  to Magix Movie Edit all movies with mp3 and mp2 sound, lose sound ( sound is not importing ) in Magix timeline is no sound, and hear nothing.

PCM or AC-3 sound are importing properly.

Others movie edititing application like Sherif movie, AVS video, Video movie Magic import all avi movies with all sounds propely.

What is wrong With Magix Movie Edit Pro 15  so it can't import avi movies with mp3 sound proper ??

And how can i remove this bug ?

Hi

MEP 15 will import mp4 files directly (assuming you have activated/purchased the mp4 codec).

I do not understand the need to convert to AVI before importing into MEP - you are losing quality at every conversion.

However I think it would be better to upgrade to MEP 2013, especially if you do not have the mp4 codec in MEP15,  which handles mp4 video much better than MEP15 does - if you do upgrade get the Premium version as all the major codecs are included.

John You did understand nothing ?

What about mp4 codec ?

MEP 15 will import mp4 files directly (assuming you have activated/purchased the mp4 codec).

I didn't write anything about mp4 in connection with MEP, only mp3 !
As well i could write:

I convert MyFilm.wmv to avi movie
or
I convert MyFilm.mov to avi movie

What about convertion to AVI ?

I do not understand the need to convert to AVI before importing into MEP

I didn't write anything about conversion to AVI with MEP !

I convert one video movie to AVI with different Video and Audio codec to check why MEP don't open sound importing AVI files. And I found that MEP don't open sound importing AVI if in AVI container is sound in mp3 format.

I described the conclusions !

When importing them  to Magix Movie Edit all movies with mp3 and mp2 sound, lose sound ( sound is not importing ) in Magix timeline is no sound, and hear nothing.

PCM or AC-3 sound are importing properly.

John if it mix Your mind just forget it !

I just have few avi video which i wanna import in MEP to edit and join with others importing videos.

Do You know what I am supposed to do for importing AVI video with mp3 sound in it properly ?

Is any connection betwen activation mp4 codec and abbility to import any video with mp3 sound ?

Finally - i found next version of MEP as application with worst interface - les friendly for user with strange changes and less ability.

Of Course i could first convert avi with mp3 sound to avi with PCM or AC-3 and then import to MEP but you yourself wrote:

I do not understand the need to convert to AVI before importing into MEP - you are losing quality at every conversion.

Hi

The 'confusion' is caused by the first line in your original post :

. . . . I convert MyFilm.mp4 to avi movie . . . .

Tells me you are starting with a mp4 format video and converting it to AVI - everything after that statement details all the options you have tried in the conversion process and which has worked and failed - these may have been caused by the conversion process and incorrect bitrates for the audio.

That is the reason I asked why you were converting from mp4 to AVI.

Your newer explanation is much clearer and indicates you have a probable codec issue which is not so easy to diagnose.

   -  Have you been able to import video with mp3 audio and it has now stopped working?

   -  Can you import a mp3 audio file?

   -  Have you installed any other software eg video player, codec packs or other video editing software after the installation of MEP?

   -  What are audio codec settings for the video with mp3/mp2 audio which will not import? You can use GSpot or MediaInfo to analyse a clip to get these settings

Check all around: check lame even change from 3.97 to 3.99.5.

   -  Have you been able to import video with mp3 audio and it has now stopped working?

I do not know about, cause i dont check other video files which can have mp3 sound eg. mov, rmv or rmvb ??? Video avi with mp3 not working all the time from the beggining.

   -  Can you import a mp3 audio file?

Yes I have no options so I demux mp3 from avi with Avidemux without re encoding and import mp3 to MEP separately - but this just suck, not good work with good program.

   -  Have you installed any other software eg video player, codec packs or other video editing software after the installation of MEP?

Not, MEP was the last and I also check on clear win XP sp3 only with lame, wmv9VCMsetup_v9.0.1.0369.exe and WMEncoder_9.00.00.2980(XP)

   -  What are audio codec settings for the video with mp3/mp2 audio which will not import?

Any You want stereo and mono from 96 to 192 kbps.

Haven't you see what I wrote:

Others movie edititing application like Sherif movie, AVS video, Video movie Magic import all avi movies with all sounds propely.

Do You have any idea about solution or only bother.

Hi

. . . . Do You have any idea about solution . . . . .

Not until you give the specific details required to the questions I have asked.  Let us try again

   -  Can you import a mp3 audio file into MEP - that means any mp3 audio or music file that has not been converted, demuxed or extracted in any way?

   -  What are audio codec settings for the video with mp3/mp2 audio which will not import?  Use GSpot or MediaInfo to analyse one of the clips that will not import and post the information they give you about the audio format and bitrates.

With out these test results we can only guess what the problem is - however I suspect the problem may be with either the Lame audio codecs you have installed or the bitrate setting of the audio.

Help us help you by providing the information requested - then we can avoid misunderstandings and frustration.
