Magix Media Player - Magixinfo

PATIENT-X wrote on 11/5/2020, 10:13 AM

A member just posted a song today and certain members with firefox cannot hear it. They had to download file, if members are using Google Chrome its fine?

The member used Google Chrome to upload song file at Magixinfo.

So my question is does the media file only play audio under certain browsers?

Finally what audio formats and what size are accepted for uploading?

I do not mention the members name as it's not for promotional reasons.

Any help appreciated.

cheers 😀👍

Stephen

Hi Stephen

I have checked the playback with Firefox 82.0.2 and Google Chrome  86.0.4240.183 and with both browsers, though the playback marker is moving, I do not get any sound - nor the visuals.

Microsoft Edge is OK.

This would suggest that the song, a WAV, is encoded to an unsupported format - I suspect the bit depth which is 32 bit, is too high - 16 or 24 bit should work.

I have also checked other uploads by the same user and these are mp3 files and play OK

. . . . .what audio formats and what size are accepted for uploading . . . .

There are 18 different audio formats supported - the most universal is mp3, the maximum file size I do not know.

Thanks John for the information and I do sometimes master my audio at 32bit even though I do eventually upload in Mp3 format.

I have passed all of my suggestions and ideas through support who have kindly passed it onto the Berlin head office, fingers crossed, these suggestions have already been discussed in previous forum posts.

But it would be ideal for Magix to list the audio formats and size on upload page.

Cheers😀👍
